Why "potato"?

Have you looked at Tanak face during and after the PS? When I play with my playstation I am more emotional and agitated than him driving a real car in a real world championship. I don't remember this cool attitude in his past. This is also a good improvement. The guy can handle pressure and that means a lot these days.
Nice aero-effect comparison:

Great result for Tanak!!
Andreas with a near perfect drive!
Hanninen also had a good drive and fastest Toyota. Hope he continues to do well moving forward.
Ogier has ball in his court, but it's still too close to call.
Lappi showing good improvement. Kid is good!
RACC is going to be great.
C3's front is not very aerodynamic is it?
Doesn't look like that.
That said in Poland Toyotas did this nose-high landing a lot as well (especially Hanninen), then there were the test vids for Finland where one day all Toyotas were nose-high and then second day all were level. Similar for Citroen. So I guess it depends a lot on settings and also on what you do right before going up in the air.

Great rally by Tanak, impressive! Also really nice to see Mikkelsen on the podium again, good to keep him in the picture for the teams.
A shame Neuville didnt perform as i was expecting him to do. Hope he can bounce back, whit the pace he showed on the first rally's of the season the championchip isn't over yet i think.
Cammili winning is also great, we where at the morning service on Friday watching the mecanics go ful gass on the right rear suspension, pressure was on whit Malcom whatching and coaching. The reward for the team is great than.
Hutinnen in the Opel is a class appart to the other Opel drivers. Dont know whats in the finnisch guys food or something but they have got so much talents, ther futere seems sure.
I sometimes have wondered why all other teams are going with edged wheel arches, but C3 engineers came with this round design, doesn't seem very aerodynamic, isn't? May be they just compensate the ugly front aero design with less downforce at the rear of the car. But I'm not aero expert, just guessing.
They had same wheelarches as all others in all test vids until the official launch.
Some speculation why they changed:
- the new design is better and they wanted to keep it secret or it wasn't ready due to some vind tunel testing/simulation (the opening upwards can help creating downforce due to the airstream from tires maybe?)
- the "traditional" ones were causing too much drag (but they should have seen that long before no?)

I don't mind to continue this nice discussion, but I'm not sure how competent we are:), moreover it's not the right thread for it. However just a final thought - if Citroen were hiding their final design to fool the competition, why the drivers were happy with the car performance so far?!? Is it just because there was no real comparison they could make? May be, may be, but anyway suddenly this year the car is undriveable on most of the rallies. They have to push too much all of a sudden?!?
I have no idea what the reason was, but it's a fact they changed it.
Example picture of the design on all public pictures from tarmac tests before: https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HbRO1zOjT...-asphalt-5.jpg
Matton said the drivers were happy after all tests. So might be more about the difficulty of driving when the setup is not spot on.
But yeah, going off topic. My last thought is that I just Breen jump that jump in first run of the PowerStage completely level, unlikely they changed the setup so maybe he just lifted on first pass.

0.48 is Panzerplatte a bit after middle of the stage.
EDIT3: First spot is SS20 4:40 in.
Huttunen won RC4 by only 3:15. What the fuck did he do wrong not winning it by 4 minutes? It’s a mystery.:D
SS20 4:40 in.
While he did win a stage, it was on the last day on the first run of the Power Stage. And he had already crashed once and been off road numerous times. I think he is driving on tarmac just like he used to in the IRC - into things. A more progressive approach to tarmac might be wiser. Better to do a Breen and come 5th, than to Rally2.
My friends are coming back with a great trophy, Tanak's rearview window! Not a bad souvenir to remember the weekend :)

Tänak in estonian radio broadcast show saying that he really had to fight for the decision to take full wet tyres. The team didnt want so in the end they made a compromise with taking 3 full wet tyres and 2 soft although Tänak wanted to take 4 wet tyres.
Says big thanks to gravel crew and special thanks to bluuford :)
This was another great rally, even if the end wasn't as exciting as others. In the end it wasn't hugely surprising but I think few people expected how the podium looked so I think we can call this a "2017" rally. My impressions of the teams:
MSport
First, a fantastic result for Tanak he's showing this year he can win on any surface and has his head together, a star for the future. Ogier had a pragmatic approach and profited from Neuville's mistake. I didn't notice Evans much to be honest in this rally his result is about as expected for him.
Citroen
Mikkelsen got in and did the job, confirmed what many people are saying that the car is fast on tarmac, but interestingly it was also fast when the road was wet and muddy. Meeke did the opposite of what he needed and after that mistake he was mostly invisible. I think he needs a strong team-mate to take some pressure off him, he does well when he is the challenger not when it's all on him. Breen drove an unremarkable rally, except for some spins, I expected a bit more from him on this type of roads and conditions.
Toyota
Another technical problem for Latvala, without these he would be in the title fight, too bad. Hanninen surprised me, I know he was strong in IRC and WRC2 on tarmac but compared to his usual pace and mistakes he went quite well, not only good pace but consistent too. The last 2 rallies have been good for him. Lappi started off quite unsure but seemed to progress through the rally, there's still room to learn.
Hyundai
Sordo showed his weakness in changeable conditions and Paddon continued the season in the same way. Neuville did a good rally until that corner, he was both unlucky but also too aggressive. Sure other drivers cut it as well but Ogier didn't. Really that's the comparison that matters because Ogier and Neuville were equal on points, fighting for the championship and Ogier chose to take that corner safely. Pure luck? Experience? Both?
