What a rookie mistake from Tänak! So pissed, third year in a row our fun lasts only like 4 stages. Utterly disappointed.
They say the first victory make them better? Ahhh

Ogier really went in hard on Neuville there. Are the quotes genuine yeah?
Title battle is really heating up lads

Well in service Neuville said he was watching Ogiers lines and thought he was risking too much. Same story like Tanak in Poland ("I knew he was going to crash").
Wow, what a leg! I hope we get a full length battle for the win this time around, all the way to the power stage. Lappi is pushing hard but his pace mightn't be sustainable for three days. Latvala still hasn't pushed to his limit so his deficit to Lappi is definitely closeable. The key to victory is commitment right now, more than ever.

(10 - Latvala Jari-Matti / Anttila Miikka): Esapekka has been absolutely fantastic today, I take my hat off to him. Tomorrow gets more challenging with the stages, we will be closer together with the start position. That's where we will know where we are - that is the reality. After this stage I know what I can do...
Tanak: "We're making up a lot of time on the drivers ahead so let's see what more we can do and how many points we can score."
Go Ött !!

LOL at Neuville catching the mobile.
EDIT: Also crazy high volume on the "background" music again.
What is the starting order based on, seems totally random.
Quattro & Celica GT4 on tonight's SS.. 😎

yes, he is
Have to note how fortunes change
Remember Breen's friday interview in Poland? And then he was basically the slowest WRC whole saturday and sunday. Now he is 4th!
Contrast with Neuville - clear victory in Poland, now 2nd slowest WRC most of the day.
It's Esapekka Lappi in the lead of the rally after day 1.
Does anyone else have the feeling that we might have to get used to the above for years to come?
Not 100 % sure, since so much noise on the background, but I think we had a Marcus Grönholm moment. :D
In live TV he said to JML tht the one corner is damp and slippy, the rest is okay. And then while commentating live , JML went wide in that corner.
I think (not 100 % sure) Bosse said: "Saatana, I just told him about that corner."
Surprising day, 5 of the 6 pre-rally victory aspirants are out of the contention. Nice to see Finns locking out the top 3, feels like the old days.
Bad day for Neuville, cleaning a little bit maybe, but I feel like he's just off the pace today and things wouldn't have been much different if he wasn't first on the road. Probably his first proper bad day this season where he tries but the times aren't there. Possibilities to try something different tomorrow.

Sébastien Ogier
Not the day we expected. It's a shame as the speed was there but that's rally. Thank you @MSportLtd for repairing the car. See you tomorrow!
what a day for the Finish...first time since Marcus Gronholm lead back in 2007 on SS2 that we see a Finish 1-2-3....

Redbull's day 1 recap (using WRC+ footage).
That's true, although we most likely haven't yet seen the Kiwi at his best. His performance this year is quite reminiscent of Thierry's lack of results last year, and we've all seen how quickly that can change (i.e. this season). The way Lappi has gone straight into a World Rally Car and set fastest stages times rally after rally is quite impressive, although for him to be a serious contender in the future his abilities on tarmac will be paramount (also an area where Paddon in particular has trouble). Let's keep our fingers crossed.
I'd love to, but no, sir.
