Does anyone have/found any good pictures of Petter from this rally so far?
I've been at school all day so I couldn't see any - so sorry if it's obvious!

Also what do people think about Petter - do you think he can catch Duval or Atkinson 'cos I can see one of the people ahead of him hitting problems.

some clips from morning. Jari is blaming himself for slow speed, and not getting comfortable with the tyres, Toni says he probably had 150hp in his SX4.

if suzukis have so many problems at tarmac rallies, i would not like to think in tough gravel events...

I dont think gravel should help them, they are trying to race on it also during Monte :D

Have people heard that Malcom Wilson said that Henning Solberg will switch between the Stobart and the Munchi's team during the year? It will be to uptimise the M2 points.

Where do you heard this?

Fresh and reliable rumours say that Manfred Stohl have secured 5 WRC rallies in a Ford Focus. First one should be Mexico.

Stohl was talking with Ramsport and papa Mikkelsen. Maybe another Ford M2 team? We can call this sport FRC and not WRC. ;)

No, whenever I visit wrc.com it crashes my computer. So, basically, their site is useless for me so I don't bother.

I think it's probably a legal requirement to show they might/might not have snow tyres on?

Not bad day for Subaru's.... I'm amazed to see Chris staying ahead of Duval's Ford. I hope the battle continues between those two (and hopefully Chris comes out ahead ;) )

ST205GT4
26th January 2008, 05:17
I suspect that 3rd or 4th is the highest the Subaru will place this year until the new car debuts. Hopefully the new machine will allow Petter and Chris to be more competitive.

But yes, it's a promising start so far. Still quite a few stages to go though.

I anticipate that PG will suffer problems, as one of the Subarus

Then Ford will have 2. and 7. (2. and 6. in manu) and get 8 + 3 = 11 and lead the championship.

But this is Mone Carlo, and the dices have not stopped rolling.

I think whats Galli is doing now is very smart. He is taking it easy, learning the car.. I can imagine that the car is very different to the cars he has driven before... He's keeping up with Jean-Marie very good now, wich is real good because JM is a real good driver.

I do not know why everybody is so surprised with Atko{s performances here.
He has done it last year in Monte, and also good times in other rallies (including tarmac), his problem was that he delivered that performance after superrallying (or just before superrallying.............).

The start of the rally is still Broccolli with his Clio R3, consistent fast tiems all rally long.

If I were Henning I would directly skip this tarmac rallies, it is clear he will not be fast (or at least reasonable fast for his CV) in this surface.

Last year I had slight suspicion that C4 is little better on asphalt than Ford Focus. Now there is really good asphalt driver(s) in Ford but to this moment I haven't seen any macigal yet (though of course there is more to come). PG's speed shouldn't be a great surprise, he had several great battles with Sordo in the JWRC in 2005, and look what he's now doing (when his car doesn't die on him!). I hope that Dudu can pass Atko tomorrow. Could help him a lot for the rest of the season bringing the Stobard Ford in the 3rd place. Definitely is a driver that I would like to see all season and not just in tarmac rallies. He can be fast also in gravel surfaces and WRC can't afford loosing drivers of this level. Actually is a bit inconceivable having Wilson and Al Qassimy as WRC regulars and Dudu as a tarmac rally entry....!
