Hirvonen was complitely at different level in his second wrc-season compared to Matthew. Actually that could be said even about Hirvonen's first season versus Mathhew's second season.
It's interesting to see how will develope. How good driver can become with zero/mediocre skills but with great circumstances.
Well said. If you compare to Mikkelsen, with much less experience and in a older (=slower) car - he gets beaten even by him.

I think the ford suspension is the key to their impressive performances in Corsica.

Even the C4 with Loeb and Sordo, two excellent tarmac drivers are just able to keep the pace of Grönholm and his focus.

I think Duivals result in Germany was a "one off"; it is very difficult to make good results after a break as long as the one Duval has had. It is a little bit like daniel carlsson, he makes good results in sweden, but on other rallies he tends to fall behind.

He has a five-year programe and is currently in his second with decent results (at least finishing in 10th or 11th sometimes, instead of retireing). Even Warmbold could learned someting in such a time..
Maybe Matt has what it takes, but it needs more time. Remember Hirvonen in his second year in the WRC (in Subaru)? It's too raw nowadays. Remember Argentina last year? His first points. Even if Companc wouldn't have had that stall during the start of the final SSS, he would have finished in a very decent possition.
No. He is not good enough.

I think Lancers and Imprezzas should be allowed to run a bigger air restictor, hey are falling down other S2000 cars

Loeb:
It is not much time, but we ore in the lead. We have not started this way well today, but we had no problems. Marcus went simply very fast. I thus have had to take risk to become LEADER. I go really fulspeed. It is not my style to take risk.
Grönholm:
We would have in fact stand in the lead, but that is not the case. We have lost time in the last 2 stages. Seb attack fullspeed, I think . What can I do still more? The difference is only some seconds. We will try tomorrow again.

Ok, Loeb 4,7 secs ahead, and will be able to follow splits tomorrow...
I doubt if Loeb has time to just cruise on the MG's splits. He will go flat out, at least till he has a 30 seconds lead or more.

Congratulations to Dani Sola and his magnific 14th position. Let´s hope the Peugeot will keep on runing properly!
It will be interesting to see how fast a S-2000 can be against a WRC. I think that on gravel a S-2000 could even score some points for the WRC.

I undestand what h means is that being first, he is able to know MG times at each split, while MG only would know previous spt times, not being able to see how much to risk!!
It istruthan less than 5 seconds is not difference at all, a stall,a spin, is enought to make the diff. dissapear.

Just looking at the day's final results. Interested to see Marc Amourette in 18th place, but more importantly driving a C2 S1600, only 10 seconds behind Aava. Basically the third placed S1600 car on the road, even through he's not in the JWRC proper. Of the 5 stages today he finished 7th, 3rd, 1st, 2nd & 2nd of all the S1600 cars.
Who is this 'unknown' driver, putting in some amazing times. The next Flying Frenchman maybe?

Well spotted, also 86 Venturini in a R3 Clio and 34 seconds behind Aava, and 5th fwd, impressive driving

With such a small difference and with New Zeadand in the back of the head, both man will go flat out, and splits will help not a bit, only disturbe. You could say that Marcus can drive freely, just padle full to the metal, were Loeb could have a bit of pressure of hearing what Marcus has done 2 minutes before him, while he still has to go pedal full to the metal.
Both man should switch of the splits and go flat out with such small margins.
