To find Sordo 0,7 seconds over Loeb, does not mean he needs o back off. Please Loeb can beat him

It's far from clear that Loeb would beat him if Sordo was allowed to fight to the very end. At least Seb should take some risks.

What happened in Norway with Ford will not happen as long as Citroen and Frequelin are concerned. Sordo will not win any tarmac rally in this year. Last year in Germany Frequelin already asked Dani to ease because they were not going to risk points of both drivers.

PS: FIA is currently questionning the legality of Prodrive's entry in F1.
True. Its more to do with the Concorde Agreement, and the definition of a manufacter, than it is an issue with Prodrive per se.

ok back to proper motorsport!

Sordo will continue to set fastest times, as long as marcus does not push loeb

Anyway, there's a big chance of some of them (Loeb or Sordo) making a mistake while fighting with each other.

Mikko has no championship at stake.. Marcus has done errors in rainy conditions and I think he played it safe. Loeb is apparently the only driver who can push and attack safely in those conditions.

Not too logical stage times today. :mark:

One thing seem to be clear though, there not much room on the podium for Ford.

I'm getting a bit worried because I somehow trusted out of the remaining tarmac rallies, Catalonya would have been the one Marcus could fight.

Oh well, there still two days left. Hopefully not for ridiculing Ford.

Do'nt worry, rally is long, and Sordo is taking many risks. He is under pressure by his public and the necessity to obtain a good result in Spain.

In both last sections, Ford and Citroen have taken two strategies different from tyres, that have benefitted to Loeb

Actually Sordo said about last stage that it was difficult in rainy conditions and he took it carefully. Don't know if he is lying. ;) In press he continually saying "I am happy I am faster than Marcus" as if his only goal is to beat Marcus.

But it would be nice to see him turning his back to any team-directions and really do huge push for win in front of his fans.

Very much so, that is perhaps the most exciting of the battles unless Duval suddenly finds more speed (which is likely).

most interesting thing right now is that Pons is equally (or even faster in SS12) than Atko and Solberg, which confirms what I saw last year: he has very bad luck, happened to be in the same team with Loeb and Sordo, the fastests duo in tarmac. He seemed to be just average with that duo on his sside with same cars!!!

I think that Pons has also improved as a driver. He had already big improvement in his last Citroen season. Pons' difference to Atko has still been quite large - at least in Germany where Atko was fired up setting stage wins.

It's turning out like Monte. On half wet road Citroen's pulls out and on normal road first come Loeb and Sordo then little bit behind Marcus and then Mikko and others. Of course now Marcus has even narrowed the gap but I suspect that Citroen drivers are mostly on safe mode.

Well, if there's nothing to talk about on WRC level, then I'll tell you what's happening on Russian champ final round.
17-years old genius Evgeny Novikov, who impressed everybody by leading in IRC Rally Russia, was also leading in Novorossyisk. But he retired agter some technocal problem with fuel system. He handed the lead to PWRC driver and one of Rally New Zealand stars Evgeny Vertunov! This means that if Vertunov wins this rally, he'll take also the russian title!!! Considering he joined the champ only in the middle of the year... What a great achievement it will be!!
Fingers crossed... What a great rally, much more interesting than Rally Espana.

Bit of a moment for Duval there almost hitting the wal

Gronholm has it difficult to defend his 10 points advantage.

Normaly -if he stay this rally- Bosse got 6 points, loose 4 points.
In Corsica he get in most positive way again 6 points, he loose again 4 points.

In Japan he has 2 points advantage. He most win.
Then he probaly wins 2 points.

In Ireland he leads with 4 points. He can loose these points if he finshed 3rd. Lower is almost 'dead'

I think in Rally Wales GB Gronholm and Loeb are equal with points. Gronholm must be finshed in front of Loeb!

All is depends om the drive quality of Gronholm and Loeb. But also of Sordo, Hirvonen and Duval. Others have no change I think.

White Sauron
6th October 2007, 16:29
Well, Marcus said and then showed he can be on par with Loeb and faster than Sordo on dry tarmac without tricky weather conditions. If rally Corsica will be like this, I think he has a chance if not to win then to finish higher than 3rd...

Well, since everyone is talking about other rallies, I did the recce of some of the stages of the upcoming rally Cyprus. I'm not competing in it, I just did it for fun and to find good spectating spots, but in the end I forgot about that and just had fun. Duval's quote taken from crashnet. What happened here?
"The weather conditions were perfect - no rain, bright sunshine. In the third stage today my co-driver was unable to read the notes for 3-4 kilometres and I had to drive without help," he reflected. "I then decided it was better to secure a fifth and to preserve the car for the Tour de Corse. My plan for tomorrow now is going to be the same as today's one."
