Against such a thin competition it's not too difficult to accomplish.

As it's been said, it is Juha's first tarmac rally so Aigner should be leading. I have been positively surprised by Hanninen this year, it's interesting to see what he'll become in the future. Aigner was hit hard by Red Bull Skoda's withdrawal, Gr.N just isn't the same. Hopefully he'd get a WRCar to show what he can do as he is not without skill either.

Excatly. Some folks here just tend to relate him ( Aigner ) to Wilson jr. which I disagree.

If he keeps his Red Bull sponsorship, he should have a very good chance of a competitive seat I think.

Gap cut to 6 points - and Loeb has one win more than Gronholm. In case they both end the season on the same points, most wins could decide the championship.
Let's hope Corsica will bring a more exiting rally...

I think Duval will be more of a threat in Corsica. It's more narrow and that suits Duval more, whereas Gronholm might struggle there (IMHO).

Voila expired, the most insipid rally which I have seen this year. I hate asphalt rallies which actual is more circuit race. Duval has done well and used his head. This weekend clearly shows that he would be the best substitute for Grönholm at Ford in 2008,! At Citroën he must listen to Guy and will be the number 2, because Loeb is and remains applied the golden boy to Citroën. :dozey:

I think Duval would be a very bad replacement for Ford; Duval has no speed compared to Bosse on loose surfaces. The advantages with having Duval on tar, would quickly be down the drain when it comes to the loose.

Third exclusion in WRC in two years, that would be some kind of record. Couldn't find the news anywhere, do you have a link?
Mirek
8th October 2007, 19:35
According to the Mitsubishi materials "how to recognize wrong evo" it is not possible to transform any evolutions even single models of the same evolution. This is a kind of classic problems :( There are different welds in the roof. Mitsubishi has sold much less new evolutions than they were all over the world so they made plenty of signs on the car to make it very more complicated... For example the only two from ten evo 9 models allowed to be used as N4 car are Japanese GT and lightened body RS. There were many exclusions from many rallys this year (and sometimes only retirements...).

Tommi never ruled the WRC !! In Tommi's days there where a lot more competetive rivals like Burns, Kankunnen, McRae, Sainz, Gronholm and Auriol. Think he did a maximum wins of 5 in one season. He did ruled in figures of titles in those days :)
About satisfying, from 2005 it has been really poor i agree, specially in quality.
If Subaru had a a winning car on every occassion the WRC was more interesting.., also to go from 3 drivers to 2 with all the loose of so many manufacturers that time was a bit unlucky.
But every sport has periods of this, so it will be come back those new magic names :)

Yes, hopefully Spain will be the first on to replace! It's like circuit racing, the kind of roads in Spain are "easy" to drive fast, corners are less so it's very difficult to find that extra time compare you rivals... Spain is really a waste of time in that way, only with rain it was intersting but those who took the right decision (mostly Citroen...) had the big advantage and that was it..
Corsica however is completly different with all his (1000) corners, Duval and Subaru will be closer to Ford this time and i think for sure Gronholm will be closer to the Citroens :)

Yeah, I nodded off a few times.
I wasn't very insterested in this rally because it felt more like a circuit race. Spain should be abandoned for a proper gravel rally. If I wanted boring processions with nagging drivers I'd go to the F1 threads, but this is rally!
Hopefully Corsica will be better.

Duval only for tarmac is an option, but Hirvonen and Duval are strong enough to beat Citroen duo.
Rally Finland and Sweden, can drive by Latvala or Henning for BP Ford Abu Dhabi.

Yes we got pretty much of everything :D After rally of Germany we dicided to go to Spain just for fun and to see nice sceneries instead of crashes...but a lot of action was seen here too. We missed Stohls and Mikkelsens crashes...we were two corners forward, but we changed the place after we heard that so many cars were crashing there. The place was tricky and a lot of gravel was on the road. So...we don´t have pics about Mikkelsen crash.
