Arai, Hänninen, Aroujo and Mason have been totally fastest drivers for the whole weekend. With all due respect, McShea is only in the lead with very smart and steady drive. Not because the pace.

thanks.

Certainly not disputing that but smart and steady ain't harming his chances so far but now he needs to be smart, steady and fast and just match Toshi or keep him with him or no more than 5 secs per SS behind him. Considering the circumstances of his drive earlier this week he's doing ok.

Ciarank
2nd September 2007, 00:36
Yep, Niall is cute enough to know that Toshi has to take all the risks. Don't forget that Alistair McRae has driven the same sort of rally as Niall- and he is leading Group N 25seconds in front of the Fermanagh pair. Fingers crossed, Niall will get a good result today.

Timole
2nd September 2007, 00:44
Yes I know. Actually Juho has plenty of time to roll again .. or twice :D

Jeah. I think there will be some losses in next stages, because the time differences are so small.

Maybe is turning to Loebs favour. The 2 next stages was faster first time around.
We wait and see

JAM
2nd September 2007, 01:25
Fantastic fight for the lead!! group N is also very interesting. It's a pitty the problem that Armindo had yesterday with the rear diff, that team had two big problems with the car in 3 rallyes... during two years in the national championship they ahd almost no problems at all.

jonkka
2nd September 2007, 01:27
Helo is filming another helo? Huh?

jonkka
2nd September 2007, 01:28
Perhaps it was getting too windy to fly?

xavier
2nd September 2007, 01:34
Loeb took 0.6 on the small one.....

Who knows, maybe there will be a meaningfull SSS this time around!

kleisj
2nd September 2007, 01:34
Who do you think will win it?
I think Loeb will keep the edge. I hope not though....

jonkka
2nd September 2007, 01:35
Sordo speeding up, he doesn't want to be overtaken by Solberg jr.

jonkka
2nd September 2007, 01:36
But Latvala is still slower than Atkinson, that might get tight now

xavier
2nd September 2007, 01:38
Who do you think will win it?
I think Loeb will keep the edge. I hope not though....
I'd give Seb 70% chance to win...
for the other battles... I give J-M on top of Chris and Dani over Petter.

kleisj
2nd September 2007, 01:38
Eye in the sky is very impressive as a concept but is not working all time . Gives a feed for 10secs and then stops again. Why is not used in other rallies as well? But more efficient transmission would be needed.

Gron on stage now

jonkka
2nd September 2007, 01:41
Slow 1st split for Loeb

kleisj
2nd September 2007, 01:42
1.4 Gron ahead on the 1st split

Luckin
2nd September 2007, 01:42
1.4s on the first split is quite a lot... Let's see in which way it develops further

jonkka
2nd September 2007, 01:43
And splits freeze... grrr...

xavier
2nd September 2007, 01:43
ohh... Marcus 1.4 faster... that's a hell of a fight! It looks drier.. does anyone know if the tire choice is the same with Seb and Marcus ?

Marcus Gronholm
Ford "I am fighting. I hope now its starts to rain, he (Loeb) is on a little bit harder (tyre choice)"

Mikko Hirvonen
Ford "Its getting wetter, I think thats good for us."

Manfred Stohl
Citroen "It was raining at the start and then 3 or 4 kilometres before the end it is completely dry. Tyre choice is very important."

Petter Solberg
Subaru "We will see, still a long way to go."

Chris Atkinson
Subaru "Got to rush and get our car sorted."

Jari-Matti Latvala
Ford "I felt it was quite okay, no big mistakes, a couple of corners a bit wide."

Henning Solberg
Ford "It's much dryer now. The stage is nice and working out. We are here now, two more stages to go."

Luis Perez Companc
Ford "It is very dry and and you have a lot of grip."

Federico Villagra
Ford "The surface is very nice."

Urmo Aava
Mitsubishi "Now it is drying up and it is better for me and how our car set-up. We try to keep our nerves."

Matthew Wilson
Ford "I made a couple of silly mistakes. The grip is just fantastic now and you can really lean on the tyre and the car. Some of the faster places where you have them (big moments) its not so nice."

kleisj
2nd September 2007, 01:47

0.2 still Loeb in front....!

xavier
2nd September 2007, 01:50

I did not manage to figure if Seb got different tires than Marcus.. and appernetly rain is coming up....

jonkka

wanna bet that it will start raining half way though the stage?... Seb will take time at the beginning and then lose some at the end....

It seems even the elements will try to make this more thrilling..

This rally, might get on the top of your list of closest rally ever.

N.O.T
2nd September 2007, 01:56
Well if it rains its gronholms if it doesn't Loeb harder compound could work better.....

jonkka
2nd September 2007, 01:56
Radio said 10 mins ago that rain started.

Eye doesn't support that, no wipers on and dust coming behind the car so it's dry. Could be raining at the end of the stage but how far into the stage is anybody's guess.

jonkka
2nd September 2007, 01:57
This rally, might get on the top of your list of closest rally ever.

Could be, there already are two Loeb vs Marcus finishes on that list, each time in that order.

Erki

Looks like it's been an amazing battle today. Sorry I woke up so late! Can't wait to see the telecast.

Hope Gronholm wins. It will make the championship so much more interesting.

Good effort by Atkinson to keep fighting as well. Has Latvala had a problem or wrong tyre choice or something? Or just slower?

xavier
2nd September 2007, 02:59
What happens if both Loeb and Gronholm are tie after the SSS?

I've no clue.... I am positive it never happend for a rally lead, but i guess it could have for 2-8 position...

the only tie breaker rule i can imageine is the # of SS wins... if my count his right Loeb has more.
