And btw the Marshall didn’t show it for Loubet but did for Breen and Tänak

Ogier has been off the pace in plenty of individual rallies, yet at the end of the season he came out on top more often than not. If anything, the fact Rovanpera wasn't going for some reckless push despite not being comfortable with the car, shows certain maturity. Ogier won the championship 8 times because he could pick his battles and sacrifice individual wins for safe point finishes. And he also won because his rivals couldn't do the same. So far it seems Rovanpera does, which can only help him in long term.

Absolutely - Kalle drove a sensible rally, especially after Friday; he showed decent pace the rest of the event, and then picked up good points in the Power stage. And extended his lead...that is how to win titles - pick up good points when you can't win. On to the next event.

Exactly the point I was trying to make earlier, and Rovanperä also knows he has some strong events for him coming after Kenya so as long as he keeps his head cool he should be fine.

Friend said that, there was an interview with Tanak to Estonian media, where he said that the team listens more to Neuville(who has been there nearly 10 years), but he(Tanak) gives his best to say his word also..

If so then.. wtf.
No wonder Hyundai and Neuville won't ever get the title.. He has only been to one team and maybe that is why he can't thinks differently..

I mean, why hire a world champion just to disregard his ideas? I mean, unlike Neuville, he actually knows how to win the title, then why not listen to him? They can only blame themselves for their misfortunes if they don’t.

Hyundai's problem is reliability, and that has nothing to do with Neuville's input. They can start listening more to Tanak and improve driveability for him, but that won't change the poor reliability. That has to be fixed elsewhere.

True, they need to take care of both things and hopefully they’ll be able to start challenging for wins on a regular basis.

Good for Tanak, finally a win. But let's not forget he was extremely lucky for the 2 cancelled stages when he was having transmission troubles. If those stages weren't cancelled, we would be probably talking about once again how crap Hyundai's reliability is. But for once luck smiled to Tanak and he deserves it.
Rovanpera did what he had to do, with Finland and Estonia yet to come, he can cruise with no problems and extend his lead.
It makes me smile reading criticism of Neuville for not settling for yet another 5th-6th place or so, as if that would matter for the championship. Nobody driving a Hyundai can seriously challenge for the title this year. And probably not even Evans.
Impressed by Loubet in 4th.

Evans with a better car is in a lower position than both Hyundais & Breen, just shows you what a dismal season he’s had. It feels as if like once you take away Ogier from the equation, he loses his benchmark and I’m guessing seeing a 21 year old Rovanperä blitzing and having a commanding lead in the championship, isn’t doing him any favours to his confidence. Hope he can bounce back but it seems that for this year, the best thing he can do is try and help Toyota win the manufacturers title.

I think last year was still strong. Remember Finland?

No wonder Hyundai and Neuville won't ever get the title.. He has only been to one team and maybe that is why he can't thinks differently..

Watched the rally and got some hope that they have improved a lot.

Now watched that interview.. and I'm not that optimistic anymore.

I can imagine, how disappointed he actually can be. I remember from some interview, when he was asked for future perspective after winning the title - he said, that he is interested to be part of building new generation car, to be able to build the things like he sees the best.

For that exact reason he made the contract quite early last year. and then... Hyundai basically just blew it up with delaying every kind of decisions to start development, then lack of leadership with Adamo leaving and there is still Neuville's legacy with what they driving. He is master, he can adapt his driving, but it's not something like "being one with the car" effect. He is really good mechanic, he was in important role for building successful car for M-Sport for 2017. And now... Such a waste of talent and waste of time in a way.

From positive side - if they will get it working, it will taste good for sure :)

edit: one more thing. It was Adamo personally who hired/convinced him to join. They seemed to match quite well, and we know how that developed - Adamo left. Another reason, why he joined, didn't realize or do not exists anymore.

Very good conclusion and i think face the reality, it is just the way meh said.

Really sad for Tänak, the hard work he made to finally get the drivers title and after that tryed to make good new desicions, but happened disaster.

Little hope was this rally, that showd, he is still able to fight for a win and dominate a rally.

Tänak is smart and he is not going to push and fight for a win if he doesnt feel good in the car, thats why there hasnt been a rally win for over a year, until now...

Lets hope Hyundai will improve ant their car will be good enough to fight for a win.

About the red flag situation yesterday

Estonian commentator called different experts yesterday and the answer was from all that the red flag notice in the car is the A and O for the drivers, not the one that Marshall shows.

So that’s what made the confusion and there wasn’t any penalties.

And btw the Marshall didn’t show it for Loubet but did for Breen and Tänak

I dont know what experts he was calling, but electronic red flag to the car has same importance like red flag from the marshal in radiopoint.

On that fateful first pass of the Osilo - Tergu SS, the Hyundai i20 R5 of Battut took fire. Probably a lot of people were wondering: who is Laurent Battut. That name did ring a bell for www.rallyeslalom.com and they dedidcated a whole article with the suggestive title: "Laurent Battut and his (negative) record with Sardegna"

https://www.rallyeslalom.com/laurent-battut-e-il-record-negativo-con-la-sardegna/

In this article they also do mention the rally roads from the Sassari and Gallura province from the past which are now used as SS in the Rally Sardegna Italia. For the ones who took the road from Alghero to the Argentiera PowerStage, the twisty Strada Provinciale 69 was a dirt road 20 years ago and part of the Sassari Rally but now asphalted.

www.rallyssimo.it finally has made their Rally Sardegna report.

"Rally Italia Sardegna 5.5 - there was some anger regarding certain errors and inexplicable cancellations of stages with the whole world watching on. Now the experience is there to try to offer a more consistent organization."

And this is a correct assessment with corresponds with feeling of the people living and working here too. But would that be enough to drop Rally Sardegna Italia from the WRC calendar next year? Although RIS has been on the WRC calendar since 2004 and could lose that position anytime, the general opinion here is that it will stay for 2023, there is much more in play
