That's actually quite stupid tbh. Neuville is not going to make it to service and made it really dangerous for Evans.

Also there will totally be a push for Evans to get corrected time. But if he gets it Suninen should also get a time correction, else it's double standards.

I wish more rallies would have an additional proper stage or two run once in the afternoon, outside of the main double run loop stages, as they throw in a bit of a curveball and make more of a day of it. Much better than having a long road section, 3 stages twice and return to base...

Note that the excessive tire wear is a Hyundai issue that happened multiple times before at least since Sardinia and Turkey 2019.

From the Adamo interview after the stage it sounded like they had issues with other tires and he blamed Pirelli. (very indirectly though)

But as I said they had issues with excessive tirewear also with Michelin as far back as mid 2019.

Could be something else with the tires, Rovanpera also mentioned some issues before stage.

Last two rallies Greensmith has been good. All those rallies before...not really.

Sure some people react when he drives as "main" MSport driver while (multiple) rally winners like Meeke, Latvala or Paddon end without a drive.

He is nowhere near Henning Solberg (yet?) though. Henning Solberg has 6 WRC podiums and 33 stage wins! Greensmith has 0 of both.

Said after day 1:
Greensmith Gus - Patterson Chris (https://www.ewrc-results.com/entryinfo/68111-vodafone-rally-de-portugal-2021/3005273/)

"I think as soon as Chris [Patterson] came into the car, he showed me the areas I needed to change. We have worked really hard and the progression has been a lot quicker than I expected it to be. I've enjoyed, but it's a shame about the puncture."

Sometimes I think it is strange that a works team let young drivers keep their "Highschool sweetheart" co-driver.
When Petter came to MSport his norwegian co-driver was kicked out and an experienced father figure came in. It is so much else than reading notes at the rallies. Amongst other the drivers need to hear where they are lacking skills, and get a push. That is easier to tacle from someone you know have more experience, and you respect than a friend your own age!

Sordo even had a puncture on liason coming to Lousada stage, how unlucky you can be.

Nice ending of the day for Tänak, despite some problems and wrong setup still has the lead.

Ogier again showing his amazing skills when to push and when not.

Really surprised with Taka and Greensmith, really good showing today from them.

I wrote one his problems might be that he is running a hybrid that was never run by the main team ( so needs different setup).

Picking spec by reading chassis numbers doesn't work. MSport cars have a new engine spec homologated just a rally ago, new front aero from 5 months ago, etc...

Solberg still has that wrong time on SS7. That one I do find ridiculous, cause as the times are listed now he is 48s behind Ogier on last split and 21s at the end. So this means he would have to be some 4+ s/km faster than the fastest WRC car over that section. That's simply impossible.
