Yess, Ogier out, wishes do come true!
Well I didn´t choose him in Pickems either, this time. My thoughts was it´s his turn in Sardegna after all happened to Tanak and Neuville earlier this season...
really silly mistake, cant believe it from him
And not a few cm cut. It's like 20cm into a rock.
This quarry part using yesterday as shakedown. So all that rocks well known

Not a type of mistake I was expecting from Ogier. At the end of the last stage he looked a little bit stressed about how much time he has lost in pervious stages.
No repairs for him, what Mads did. Waiting for 5 point on PS then...

The last this stupid mistake he did was last year in Turkey AFAIK. After that the only real mistake was in Sweden (little one but in a bad place). It was about time and it still happened while he was 9th, Tanak always retires from the podium position.

I agree, miles off where he needed to be.
In honesty it’s been coming, he’s been bullying that car through rallies and getting away with things here and there, just didn’t expect it to be what looks like such a simple error.

It's not like I wished him to break a leg or so, get serious. Retirements are part of the sport, what's wrong in wishing the driver I really don't like to have it? The championship is a marathon, this won't change much and Ogier deserved it after so long period of luck and avoidment of mistakes. Just remember that rock last year in Sardinia, in 9 of 10 times it would break the car and he got away with it.

The wheel wasn´t hanging loose, but steering arm for sure was broken.
However as you say about our master, something added to that steering arm is the issue. Heard that information on All Live.

Not that surprising. BT Sport should have more resources and experience for broadcasting.
Shame they can't put the program listed on the TV guide on the channel it is listed on though! Last night's first stage was listed on BT sport extra3 so pressed record on it in the guide, only to find nothing but a blank screen. Luckily had it on the app on the iPad as it was actually shown on BT sport 3 not extra 3!

Citroen will consider pulling Sebastien Ogier out of Saturday’s Rally Italy stages if the French firm feels there’s nothing to gain from the C3 WRC running first on the road.
Ogier retired from Rally Italy after breaking a steering arm on the final stage of Friday’s morning loop.
Returning under Rally 2 regulations would leave Ogier running first on the road for a second day in succession, but with very little potential for scoring points from the Alghero-based event.
The world champion is already looking towards the next round of the series in Finland.
“There’s no strategy that can help me right now,” he said. “Let’s see what goes on for the rest of the weekend, but there’s not so much to expect from Sardinia. I’m already thinking to the next rally.”
Even powerstage points are optimistic given that he will be first on the road on an exceptionally loose and sandy test.
Asked if he would consider a tactical approach to day two, team principal Pierre Budar told Motorsport.com: “Why not? If there is nothing to win, nothing to learn and a difficult day opening the road, nothing to help the team, we could consider but we are not at that point yet.
“We will see tomorrow. We will decide. Of course, it’s quite frustrating for him to start and be first on the road, I think he’s fed up with this. It’s not easy to know what to do tomorrow. If we have some parts to test, it could be an idea.”
Ogier was quick to accept blame for the mistake, explaining that he had driven this section of stage three times already – it formed part of Thursday’s shakedown test.
“I knew exactly there were rocks there,” he said. “I don’t know. It looks like I turn[ed] a little too early, it was a bit blind over a bit of a crest, but I knew it was there.”
Ogier admitted he was surprised to find there was no spare steering arm in the car.
He told Motorsport.com: “I would still need 10 minutes to change [it], so it would have compromised the results.
“I thought we had one, maybe it’s something we need to discuss with the team. I’m not sure it would have saved much of the weekend, maybe – but we didn’t have.
"Ninety-nine per cent of the time you carry it and don’t need it and the day you need it you don’t have it. That’s how it is. The biggest mistake is not to think to carry this, the biggest mistake is to touch this rock.”
Budar said not taking the spare part was a tactical decision.
He added: “It was a decision made to optimise the weight of the car. We prefer to play the performance, but maybe this has to be reconsidered. But, anyway, it wouldn’t really change anything except for a few minutes.”

He was incredibly fast in the first pass too.
And in Sardinia in the second pass usually the differences are still huge, not as much as the morning but still huge.

They most probably know, but it's become clear that they follow some rules/procedure particularly when an ambulance enters the stage. When it happens, we always get this bizarre situation where they pretend nothing is happening. Like last rally, there was no mention of Meeke crashing on the Power Stage from the commentators. First the viewer heard of it was Molly referencing it in one of her stage end interviews. The commentators didn't really react to it coming off the back of that, they then started acting like they were surprised...
So it's no accident, it's obviously their policy to not say anything.

On the other hand they may get some stupid notional times. I hope that won't happen.

It is bizarre for that reason, they must know that most of the audience watching WRC+ will know how to get information from other sources, but they obviously like to heavily control their own narrative. Like AL14 says, they are the voice of the Promoter, not journalists.

If I was Citroen, I would run Seb after Ott to push him 1 place away from Sordo/Sunninen on the road. Not sure how much difference it will make as Ott has shown he is well capable of negating the cleaning effect of a few places, but it will at least give Seb a decent road position to test from. In theory Toyota can place both JML and Hanninen in front of Ott to disadvantage Neuville.
While it’s clearly within the rules, I think this could get messy as the season goes on. If you have an event where loads of guys suffer on day 1, the messing about of positions could get stupid throughout the event.
