The point is (thankfully for Ott), is that he didn't have as big issues as his teammates over those stages, Tom Fowler said as much.
They have a system this year that kicks in to protect the engine and other components when the engine starts to overheat, and they'll work on Lappi and Jari's car in service to give them the chance to fight like Ott has been able to do.

Mightily impressed by Loeb. All those other competitions have made him an even more complete driver. I think he will get faster as the rally goes and that will make a few guys stressed likely. Even though you are fighting for the championship, you don't want to beaten by somebody whos been away that long. Let's see if he can make it stick.
Great rally so far, shame for the toyotas.

so you dont know if all yaris had engine overheat problems. Thats the answer you had to give at my question.
answer is not that ''they are faster vs previous stages''.
Off course I don't know if they had overheat problems, you don't know either. Heck often the drivers can't be sure either as the engine turns down power automatically (ref. Toyota engineer), supposedly without even telling on the dashboard (ref. Latvala SS2).
But based on times they clearly had much less issues in SS4 and the higher speed is for sure the reason. I recommend you actually read and think about whats written first. "Highest stage" doesn't mean much if the difference is a few 100m while the avg. speed difference is 30 km/h.

drivers quotes from stage, tells me that you dont have a clue what happened.

He said it now on all live? If so then thanks for the information! I couldn’t watch after the stageYeah he was interviewed by Molly after the stage in service. Basically it's a failsafe system which he said wasn't in place last year, which kicks in to protect the engine and other components when temps get too high. Basically the system manages power output in relation to Performance vs reliability when the temps are high. Said things were under control although obviously he was putting a brave face on it, as they've still had two cars suffer a bit much.

according to Fowler, they had different mapping to Tanaks yaris.
Maybe they had to try some different things at one car from other 2 cars, for safety reasons.
ie less power for Tanak from mapping, but when you dont have high engine temp like at Latvalas and Lappis car with different mapping for more power,at the end you gain, because your less power car(Tanak)car didnt get at safe mode due to mild mapping,so no high engine temp=no safe mode.

His co-driver Nicolas Gilsoul tells us the unfortunate episode. "The morning was good in real specials, we just had a very short special in town where we had engine misfires, and it looks like gas pressure like last year. the special as a snail and we lost about twenty seconds in the adventure. He had to activate a security mode and he had to open his door to do the manipulation. The door closed several times on his arm so it him "It was painful for him," Gilsoul told the microphone of our colleague Olivier Gaspard, special correspondent of RTBF in Mexico.
And to add: "We would have done well of this technical problem. The biggest challenge will be to make a reset in his head in about fifty minutes not to do stupid things during the afternoon."
The co-pilot from Neuville also detailed the scan for us. "The sweeping in Mexico is very localized, there are more sandy and some more earthy portions, some places are artificially repaired so it's very changeable, it should be better during the afternoon." he concluded.

Elfyn managed to control the car after the bump, but went wide on the next corner and hit a bank. He believes he rolled, but looking at the television coverage its hard to see whether it rolls or not. There is extensive damage to the left-hand side and quite a lot of damaged suspension. From the look of some of the fractured components it was clearly a very big impact."

What it says is most people simply repeat crap that other people spew out...totally without ever thinking..
(just as an example...some fool says "that guy is TOO OLD top drive WRC"...Next guy repeats it without wondering if and why the first guys actually knows anything about what it takes to drive WRC and if he himself knows anything at all...he just repeats it. just like everybody always says "Its soooooooooooooooooooooo much faster now" in our poor little championship here.....Oh I see...an average speed of 93 km/hr today is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much faster than a average speed of 93 km/hr 20 years ago...)
It says that the degree of hype in the TV is rather high, the claimed needs for superman like strength and physical conditioning is exaggerated rediculously and the role of routine and experience and knowledge is muted.

When I saw Loeb's testing videos... Very nice and controlled 4wheel slides like in the good old days for the God of rallying..... In my head I thought that given his starting position maybe he has a chance to be in top 3. Tänak to estonian media - Loeb's speed makes me sad. It feels like during all those years we haven't progressed at all. Hats off to him. He has done a very good job today and it's really incredible. Tomorrow we have equal starting positions. Our plan is to go faster.

Difficult situation for Neuville being 2 minutes off the lead with no one behind either. He can only hope for someone to run into trouble ahead of him. Maybe some power stage points, because finally he won't be the first on the road and it will be the second run of the stage.
