So what reason you post that -11 sec compare to Ogier? Kubica's limit it's only Kubica limit without any compare to others
Kubica has no limit. In Rallying You should find some, there are plenty of thing that might go wromg. Fast driver, but what is the point if it is just for few stages?

Is it normal that an experience driver needs advice from an engineer? I'm not ironic, just want to know if Latvala said something with a sense.

Better to crash car and find limits from above, despite anounce 5 years plan and by step 0.0001sec find limit from downside.
Colin's first win in WRC was at 4th season, how many season Kubica drive in WRC? a?
Colin had nowhere near the crashes Kubica has...
plus colin was in his very early 20s in the first few seasons not in his 30s and his first win in world level came even before competing full time.

This is **** now!
But definately the Hyundai and Neuville improved quite a lot since last year! But they are not quite there yet (but that's probably planned the new car should be on perfect pace) but Neuville is trying to match Ogier's pace but has to go fully on and over the limit. Many moments and then it has to go wrong somewhere, sadly.. But it looks promising for the future I think :)

Meeke:
"It's bitterly disappointing. I just braked too late into a fast right, which was followed by a tight left. We got off line and just couldn't get it back, so we never made the left-hander. We clipped a rock on the outside and that was it," explained Meeke.
"I'm at a bit of a loss to explain it right now. The road was slippery, but I was just too late on the brakes.
"The specific goal today was to not make a mistake, so I'm really angry with myself. Now we just have to get back on the road on Saturday and learn as much as possible."

Almost all current wrc drivers need more speed. It's the only way Ogier can start making more mistakes. If not then we will be seeing the same scenario almost every rally until Ogier decides to have some fun in other motorsport and retires in 5-10 years.

The team were determined to see the crew back on the stages. Despite the car being completely submerged for almost 10 hours, M-Sport's technicians were prepared to work throughout the night in an effort to repair the Fiesta, and repair it they did – with the help of both Tänak and Mõlder who stayed by their team's side until the work was complete.
Changing the gearbox, fuel tank, turbo, cooling package, boost control valves, electronic components, brake components, front and rear suspension components as well as a number of cosmetic components, the team also repaired the engine block and drained the engine of excess water.
Completing the work in just three hours, it was an outstanding job by the technicians who have once again proven themselves to be in a true class of their own. To complete this epic story, the number six Fiesta RS WRC was driven into parc fermé by Tänak and Mõlder.
Ott Tänak (29th) said:
"This is something that we have never seen before. The car has been gone all day, submerged at the bottom of a lake, full of water, and the team had to do a full rebuild in just three hours!
"It was a crazy challenge, but I knew the M-Sport guys would be up for it. I have massive respect for my team. This was a huge task to do, but they have worked as hard as they always do and I am so grateful to each and every one of them.
"To get back out on the stages tomorrow is very important for me and Raigo [Mõlder, co-driver]. We need to rebuild our confidence and get back behind the wheel, and my team have made that happen this evening."

I must say I absolutely dont understand why they have changed notional times in SS 3 and SS 4 at the end of day when comparing second runs through the stages. They were in ideal situation, when almost all WRC cars went through stages normally and "rest of the field" not. So why the rest of drivers cannot have same times? For me this is really stupid...

I think that it was simply because he is the best. I don't like him but he show another time his strenght and that others are far from his pace. The only one close to him is Latvala but everything has to be perfect and it doesn't happen everytime in rally. Plus he has been clever in tyre choise and it counts as well. No one in the world could earn 10 seconds opening the road in a stage, with cold or hot weather.

I would say Neuville is probably a bigger threat to him than Latvala. He's already really close to Ogier in pacen in Sweden and now before he crashed. If the new Hyundai WRC will be reasonably quicker than the current one (and it should be) things could get really interesting... :)

No Tom, Thierry was over-limit and Ogier was cruising. When Thierry tried to match the Ogier pace yesterday he ended up doing what people have criticised Kubica for. Latvala has played himself in to the rally and has a 10 sec deficit, he must stop losing seconds in the SSS type stage.
Had Ogier really been sweeping today JML might have had a chance but Ogier will match whatever Latvala can do, 1-2-3 VW can only be stopped by Ostberg now.

They were cranking the car to remove some excess water left, to check many things - pressures, etc and finally build oil pressure. When they wanted to start it it started immediately.
They changed whole fuel tank, so complete with fuel pumps, so shouldn't have problems with them.

I don't think it's "over-optimism" as you call it. Over-optimism would be claiming he will be world champion. ;) We'll have to wait and see when Ogier is under real pressure. The biggest reason why he has gained time, I think is because of how smooth he drives and being able to bring speed through the corner. Having 20% less power at this elevation makes it hard to gain traction and power if your off line in a corner.

imo and i'm also disappointed to say this..i just don't think lavala has what it takes mentally and driving skill wise over an entire season. i'd like to be proven wrong so the championship would be much more competitive and to see him reach that "final level" as a driver after all these year, but it's just not looking that way.
maybe he's at his peak now?? i don't know
Neuville, mikkelsen and even meeke to some degree seem to be better bets to challenge ogier if they can somehow fine tune their skill/car package to take it up just a little notch speed and consistency wise.

We need Loeb back. There is no even one competent driver currently in WRC to challange Ogier.
