Go Italy Yeah babe I also will be ok if your boyz win or draw with Urugay.

Hurray! There's a God above and from time to time he turns his face to my prayers. I managed to escape from work because the meeting was postponed for tomorrow. On my way home I stopped at Pizza Hut and bought one for warming and getting into the match atmosphere. Now the game can begin.
Good luck to La Celeste!

England v Costa Rica will be depressing Jon, but It could get worse. Costa Rica have been the best team in the group and with our second string out I fear a 2 or 3-1 defeat.

Our 4th Worst World Cup ever will be complete.

You too Gadjo?

I always support South American teams. I think its something to do with the mystery and passion they show.

I want Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador and Colombia to do well. As I have sad, Brazil are the exception. They have won enough already. I want a different winner.

Anyway Costa Rica looking better than England in the early stages.

Sorry pino, not the Italy I remember or would like to see in a world cup. Perhaps next time they will do better. 2 group stage exits in a row !!

Congrats to Uruguay, they deserved to qualify. Italy didn't show any skills, except for an excellent Buffon, and a great young talent (Verrati ). Suarez is an idiot, the referee even more for sending Marchisio off, and ignoring what Suarez did. Italy as England must now get a new coach, and build a new squad focused on Verratti and the many young talents, Italy still have. But most important thing, we must change our negative attitude on pitch !!!

Sorry guys but I don't understand a thing. Ask any player in my country where he'd like to play and he'll say Primera Division, Serie A or Premier League because these are the strongest national championships in the world. However the national squads of Spain, Italy and England were a total fiasco and left the world cup in the groups stage. Why?

That's what they are saying about England today. That England players are not getting match practice in the Premier League.

Who would have thought that Costa Rica and Uruguay would be the qualifiers from that group!

gadjo_dilo
24th June 2014, 22:00
Too many foreigns players, that's why !

That's what I also thought. In the past the national team was usually built on the skeleton of the best squad in the country and the players were used to pay together. I've heard that for Balotelli and Immobile this was the first time they played together.

Only watched 30 seconds of the Costa Rica/England game, and largely forgot it was on. I expected Italy to get through, this kind of scenario was made for them. Looks like it's up to the Benelux countries to carry the Europeans.

I very much doubt it. Changing the manager won't do anything, the players are just not good enough. But I will say that England played better football than they have in the previous two World Cups.

Why?

For England it is too much money, too many foreign players and poor coaching at youth level. Take Arsenal for example, Bacary Sagna is leaving and they are searching for a proven replacement from abroad, even though they have a very good young English replacement in Carl Jenkinson.

And because of the big money young English players are lured to the big teams even though they won't play. Jack Rodwell was a very promising young player but moved to Man City and barely played.

There is still everything to play for, and forever to play it in!

The Japan v Colombia game was on SBS Radio 3 here, with a re-transmission of NHK's feed in Japanese; it was really strange to hear the commentary get more and more aggravated and turn on the Blue Samurai. Colombia v Uruguay - if the teams play to form this will be a bad one for Uruguay (and Suarez might not be playing) - I remember all the hype in USA 94 about Colombia and they failed miserably. Now just think how good they might have been if Falcao had been around.

I guess we all knew what a douche-bag Suarez is but the way his team-mates and coach and the uruguayan media support him is sickening. If they don't want to put gasoline on the fire they should just shut up. Instead they go on about the British press and conspiracies and the coach talks about 'cheap morality'. What a freakin' douche-bag. I can't wait to see this pathetic team on a plane back to their God forsaken country.

They say an international ban will actually push Suarez' price tag up because he would able to focus 100% on club duty. That's a sickening thought too... they may be right. I hope he goes to Real Madrid. Man, how easy it would be to hate that team... the hysterical princess, the murderer and the cannibal in one place

I am picking a 0-0 draw between Germany and the USA. If they draw, they'll both end up on 5 points which is more than either Portugal or Ghana could get. If there was an excuse to rig a scoreless match, this is it. It could even be done in the tunnel.

The kiss itself was just a photo op. Eachhad won a silver cup at a Madison Square Garden tuneup for the MontrealOlympics, where she would become a legend, the first perfect princess ofgymnastics.

I do get the impression that she had turned into a bit of a harlot, and a strumpet, maybe always was, that's why I'm so into her  :pimp:

Seven years ago, after the fairy tale hadturned grim, he spotted her name in a TV listing and flew to Los Angeles tosave her. She was fat and trampy-looking, hostage to a hustler. They spokeagain -- Where else? -- in the green room of a TV show.

It was a light for me," Nadia Comaneci said. "I was afraid totell people I was in trouble, but I was always hoping someone would come andtake me away."

I say something naked happened between those two, maybe between the ’76 and ‘80 games

Whats the reaction been like in Italy after going out?

Here its all a bit too over optimistic in all honestly. We have forever seen coaches sack and teams bashed for months after going out early, but this time we have the reverse. Everyone saying how positive it is for the future. Probably being a bit too supportive. As ultimately we were pretty awful.

Steve, as usually there's a war in Italy at the moment. Everyone is against everyone, players vs players, media vs all, fans vs coach and players, Balotelli vs everyone  We knew we were in group of death, but everyone expected to qualify to 1/8, so all are very disappointed, and demand a big change. The list of coaches, that could replace Prandelli, is long, but none really has quality to give Italy, the attitude change, we need. Oh wait, there's one coach (Conte) but isn't available :p:
