Hopefully Ghana and USA can entertain us.

steveaki13
16th June 2014, 23:06
Hi everyone. Sorry I am late to the party.

I missed Germany smash Portugal. I guess Germany are to be feared by all then.

I did however get home in time to watch the classic Iran v Nigeria. :dozey::grenade::snore::bigcry:

steveaki13
16th June 2014, 23:07
I actually think Ghana v USA could be a really good game.

Anyone staying to watch it?

pino
16th June 2014, 23:10
Yes steve, I will stay !

pino
16th June 2014, 23:13
I wasn't expect much from the previous match , so I preferred to watch end of season 6 of Sons of Anarchy ! ;)

steveaki13
16th June 2014, 23:17
What do we think about Ghana. They should have made the Semi Final. Are they still that good?

I hope they should be more exciting than arch rivals Nigeria. The USA are always OK to watch.

Brown, Jon Brow
16th June 2014, 23:21
Jurgen Klinsmann sides are always attack minded

pino
16th June 2014, 23:24
I am staying because I too think it will be an exciting game ! As for Ghana, I will tell after this game ;)

Ghana has eliminated the US from the last two world cups (2006 3rd match of group stage, and 2010 last 16), so the US wants some measure of revenge.

pino
16th June 2014, 23:39
Good luck Alex, although it will be a tough match ;)

Tough match for both sides.

Is Ghana playing 4-2-4 ???

steveaki13
17th June 2014, 00:16
It says on official sites its 4-3-3? They are certainly going for it

Brown, Jon Brow
17th June 2014, 00:19
Can't see this one ending 1-0

Alexamateo
17th June 2014, 00:20
Ouch, looks like we've lost Altidore :(

pino
17th June 2014, 00:21
Yes doesn't look good :(

steveaki13
17th June 2014, 00:28
Such a shame to end a tournament after 20 minutes. Altidore gets such unfair press here in England, which I hate, because I watch more USA matches than most and like him.

So sad. :(

steveaki13
17th June 2014, 00:28
Ghana really pressing hard now. They are pushing USA back.

steveaki13

Brown, Jon Brow
17th June 2014, 01:47
Does the USA love soccer yet?

steveaki13
17th June 2014, 01:48
They should do. They are getting better at it all the time. Slightly tough on Ghana, but i guess if you waste chances and dont defend. You deserve to lose.

Alexamateo

Taz had some pathetic excuse about having to work or something. :dozey:

Yes it was pretty lame but I did catch the start of the match at a customers house. I'm talking to this freakin' guy in his living room with the TV on, and I think the guy must have thought I was weird or something, because when we scored the first goal I said:

It is too late with a little one who gets up any time from 4.45am to 6am and wishes to have your full attention whether you've had a good night sleep or not. To top it off she has a chest infection and I think I've slept 8 hours in total since last Thursday! ... The joys of parenthood, but as Pino says other things take priority sometimes :)

I can totally get what you are going through since Storm Jr is 1.5 years and sticks to similar timezones and of course the mandatory milk stop in the middle of the night..so inspite of that I am doing pretty well with the footie :p:

I must say I really don´t like Muller. I'm not sure why but I can't stand him. As a footballer he seems to be zero in every way but one. He´s always in the right place. He's like the freakin' Pipo Inzaghi.

4 goals and still boring as hell. The best goal was the penalty. It was like a contest of ugly goals.

And then there was Pepito. When I first saw him I thought... I forgot this pshyco is Portuguese... and then I told my brother in law how I don´t get how a guy like him, with serious menthal issues, can play for Real Madrid and Portugal regularly. After a couple of minutes he was sent off . That guy's place is in an institution, not a football field.

and seeing CR7 throwing a hissy fit is always priceless.

I was looking forward to the Germany/Portugal game. But I chose to miss it, since it was on between 2-4am. Speaking from experience, it's not a lot of fun staying up all night to watch Germany win 4-0 :(

Big Ben

As a child playing football in the school yard or whereever, every now and then came this kind of kid that didn't stand out in any way.... not fast, not good with the ball, not strong... but no matter what always there to push the ball in the 'net' (imaginary net) and even so nobody thought much of him. One of these kids made it big. He´s name is Muller or Mueller... Who knows? Who cares? When someone thinks of Germany or Bayern is he thinking of Mueller?

2. I wonder if after this episode that guy is still your customer.
In honesty I'm slightly more calculating then you may be giving me credit for. The time period for the customer to exercise his right of rescission had already past, I had collected I/2 of the total cost of the job in advance, and I'm pretty sure this freakin' guy, "Johnny" as he likes to be called appreciates my fenestration skills more than he is bothered by my quirkiness

Meaning I'm the one who's in charge of cooking, ironing, cleaning the house, washing the laundry, etc. :angryfire: Not at all sweetie that girl is a mere child, you are a classy woman who probably wouldn't get one of those naval piercings, that basically advertises:

This keeper will end in a big squad just after WC !

He plays with Ajaccio in France, and they were relegated. He's had lots of practice stopping shots ;)

I have not read these books, but in terms of match action, I reguarly have watched all the World Cup films and match highlights. I know quite a bit from 1954-now, and I have read books on 30-50.

I would say my knowledge on these world cups is above the average man in the street despite 98 being the first world cup I remember.
