Diogo Salvi will receive a Fiesta R5 on November, next year Portuguese Championship assisted by ARC Sport.

So till now to 2014:

João Barros (Fiesta R5) - Confirmed (car will arrive on October, maybe will drive it at Casinos do Algarve)
Diogo Salvi (Fiesta R5)
Miguel Barbosa (Fiesta R5) - Not confirmed, but he tested one
Pedro Meireles (Skoda Fabia S2000) - Son of local VW/Skoda dealer, so no change
Ricardo Moura (Skoda Fabia S2000)
Bruno Magalhães (Peugeot 208 R5) - He try have some events on ERC and do Rallye de Portugal, Azores and Madeira.

Bernardo Sousa have to use Munaretto Sport 207 S2000 at Mortágua, because AT Team can't put the Fiesta S2000 in time here. He contacted and have all good with Luca Betti's team, but the engine broken at Asturias doens't help. So, it explain the facebook message.

What happend to Moura, was it a technical problem or did he hit something ?

Kangur`s comments to Estonian media: "At first we took it easy to get used to the car and then began to raise our pace step by step.We did a spin at one junction in the long stage and lost about 15-20 seconds there. Otherwise, I`m very pleased with the rally, with excellent roads, a lot of fans, and a very enjoyable car from AT Rally Team, NA-aspirated engine reminded my the "old" Honda times "

Olala, Porsche 911 again beating R5 car....not just Vallejo in Spain, same happening also in Portugal.....I like it !! What a shame for a car which was specialy bulit for a rally and is slower than a car designed 50 years ago.....with an engine behind rear axle.

Gearbox problems to Campos on test before rally. He said that the car needs more 150 hp.

I am reading in Belgian newspaper that there was accident in a rallysprint in Guimaraes? Apparently there were three spectators killed and several injured when a car left the road after flying finish? Very sad news again for our beloved sport. May the victims rest nin peace.:(

Unfortunately it is true. Even worse it is because 2 of the victims were just children.
Apparently the victims were related to another competitor crew.

This is a recurring problem with sprints, not much importance is given to safety.

The idea behind that it's making a Junior Championship with the DS3, but the car it's a bit expensive for juniors, and for what I heard this weekend, little impressive too. And besides, a Saxo Challenge it's going to be held next year too, that probably will have a lot more of attention!

He was not happy simply because the FPAK comissioners decided to check for a second time on the rally the gasoline he was running the evo x on.

In Madeira you can only use normal 98 or 95 gasoline, he was quite upset the suspicions were only on him as no other crew was checked.

The best driver of 911 is Alexandre Camacho, but in this rally he rent Delta DS3 R5. Freitas is from Madeira, have knowledge and his car is ex Fontes. Vieira is first year at rally competition but is very fast (next year will buy a Fabia R5). Those 2 can do something good. Unffortunetely, the 2 other Porsches are gentleman drivers, and others 2 will not start (Pires and Mendes).

Since last year we're seeing a renovated interest in Portuguese championship, somehow connected with the recovery of the car market. Citroën has officially entered this year with Fontes and Meireles has also some support from the Skoda importer. Both cars are run by the strong Sports&You team. The other title contenders (Moura and Barros) are privateers, but got proper technical structures (ARC Sport and P&B Racing). Martins and Alves are outsiders with their S2000 Fabias and ex champ Lopes always performs well in his Impreza R4. Like Andre said, Vieira (911) is new to rally (former racing GT champion) but has already proved to be fast in tarmac rounds. In Madeira (a small island with limited sport infrastructures) Rally is a huge sport, profiting from the beautiful tarmac roads and the locals passion for fast cars. Great fight on Madeira Rally! Four different leaders and less than 6s between 1st and 3rd at the end of leg one. Local drivers Camacho (led until puncture on ss6) and Nunes amazing on their first out in R5 cars! Only Fontes and Magalhães were able to match them. Consani was 1st in super ss but it's struggling with little knowledge of the stages. Meireles out with differential problems in his R5 Fabia. 911 drivers unable to fight with R5 cars. Magalhães is on maximum attack mode after fixing electrical problems during service and recovered a lot of time at the afternoon. Tomorrow he'll try to win, but still a long way to go on Madeira tricky roads that usually provides a lot of surprises...

Great fight on this year Rally Vinho da Madeira! Magalhães entered second day with a strong pace and managed to control a small distance to Nunes, that kept pushing till the last km! Fontes ease up a little bit at the end, in order to guarantee national championship lead. Camacho was always fast, despite losing a well deserve podium finish. Consani got more used to the island roads and climbed to the top 5. Probably due to a broken direction, Moura and his co driver got unhurt from a heavy accident that destroyed his Fiesta in a fast section. This rally proved how R5 cars are easy to adapt, Nunes and Camacho made their first outing, and that there's a balanced performance at this category (in private hands, maybe the Skoda is not so far away). Please FIA, don't change R5 regs!!!

Has to be said that Meireles win just happened due to Fontes problems and Moura lost time in Fontes dust...nice rally from Martins, Vieira and Ruivo. Last round (Casinos do Algarve, using some former Rallye de Portugal stages) will decide overall title between Fontes and Moura and 2wd titles between Cid, Ruivo and Neto!

For the better and the worse...12 R5 among how many (20?) total entries?

FPAK must put aside R4 cars in order to revamp Gr.N championship, because there's no way a N4 car can compete with Lopes R4 Impreza.

2WD championship must be disputed only at the 6 national (continental) events in order to make it more affordable and the junior (iniciados) championship can have that same 6 events, to get a proper mix of tarmac and gravel rallyes.

6 rounds it's a very compact championship. I actually think that if inscription prices are cut let's say in 80%, we could have a 10 round championship. Since Azores was the cheapest this year, and if Madeira could do the same, I think that we really could do it. Going to the islands it's essencial, after all, it's a national championship.

My ideal calendar will be starting with gravel and ending with tarmac:

Putting aside the expensive Madeira and Açores events, a 2WD champ with 6 events (Fafe, Mortágua, Algarve + Guimarães, Vidreiro and C.Branco) is more than enought* for a secondary series.

Forget making separate tarmac/gravel cups or champs. We need to concentrate competitors, not to disperse them (btw, in ERC those cups are useless).

Those extra N4 and 2WD cars you mentioned are mostly welcome. It's great to get to a rally and see all those top teams with R5 cars, but amateurs crews must be the core of any national rally series and they've become a sort of "on the verge of extinction specie" at PRC!

As you said, Açores and Madeira (and also Rallye de Portugal) are essential, but they should count only for the top (4wd) champ, because even if organizers offer cheaper entries the overall running cost of any of this international rallyes will always be twice than any of the national events.

*in 2013 the 2WD champ had only 5 national events (5+1 international joker in 2014), and nobody really complained!

Interesting ideia. The 2WD cup (and probably the N4 too) just count in the continental events. I like it.
The ideia about the cups, it's not to separate the champ, but to have something more to race for. Drivers seem to like the Regional Tarmac and Gravel champs.

About the new 2WD, maybe just new cars, not drivers... even if one of them will come from the Northern Regional. About the N4, if everything goes according to the drivers planing, we'll probably get two fast Center Regional drivers and a Madeira one ;)

And today I heard something curious enough to got me making questions. It's known that Pascoal wanted a Porsche, and he sold his Evo7 to Carlos Vieira(will be his recce car) that had his Porsche for sale. Maybe they did an exchange. It would be great to see Pascoal in the Porsche. Maybe that away he can beat Peres in the new car he his suppose to be having soon :P

Tommorow starts "Rallye Casinos do Algarve", last round of CNR (portuguese rally champ). Close fights between Fontes (DS3 R5) and Moura (Fiesta R5) for the overall title, plus Cid (Clio S1600) and Ruivo (Clio R3) for the 2wd title, are expected. A good number of competitive cars and drivers, but a very short entry list at this season's final event, that will return to some of the great southern gravel roads, well knowned to those that use to come in for Portugal WRC Rally.

Lots of suspense at last CNR event!
The title was moving from Fontes (DS3) to Moura (Fiesta) during Algarve Rally but Fontes, despite Moura clear win, manage to get 2nd at the end, becoming 2015 Portuguese rally champ (his 1st rally title after several in circuit racing).
Congrats to Fontes/Ramalho and Citroën for the win and also to the vice champs, Moura/Costa.
2015 2wd champs are Cid/Silva (Clio S1600), beating Ruivo/Peixoto (Clio R3) by only 1 point! Congrats to all of them.
Besides the title fights, great rally perfs from exGT racing driver Vieira (Fiesta), that lead on 1st day, and the ERC junior driver Gago (208R2), faster 2wd until getting a puncture.
Now a long break, til March, for the promising 2016 CNR start.
