I think that is because he is reg'd in PWRC this year. IIRC, he's the only non-N4 car running in PWRC.

Edit: Checked the start list and I now see what you mean. As well as priority 3 (=PWRC) his car class is also listed as 3. Perhaps the reasoning is that all PWRC drivers' cars are class 3, even though one is not actually of N4 origin....yet another confusing episode due to the myriad of classes currently used.

I think they put him there because of PWRC, Fia can do anything what they want.

You really have to question Ogier's commitment to the team play, he bins it and retires at the very first stage of the rally which all week we got bored hearing "there is nothing to gain but just fail, tarmac, only 4km it is just the start etc".
Now Loeb has to finish at all costs in front of Hirvonen because if not he risks having Latvala between them at the end. In this case he will need a big result in power stage and a bad one for Hirvonen to overturn the situation if the thing goes until there.

Yes, wanted to say just that. DMACK was allowed to make a new compound as one of the "jokers" that tire manufacturers have to change problematic tires during the season. Since this is last round of this season they could basically make special tyres just for 1 rally. Something like Pirelli did for Fiesta S2000 debut on Monte.

Mirek the new tyre is not always better.History says that it can be worse.
Don t expect to see big progress in tyres from a manufacture with no motorsport tyre history. While seems ''easy'' it s very difficult.
Michelin for example haven t managed to make a wet tyre at Pirellis level last 10 years.
Also don t forget that Michelin Pirelli are working for decades with works teams, something which can help a lot in tyre technology with usefull data from them.D mack is working with who?....

^ If anyone was second guessings that could Tänak fall behind Wilson even if this is Tänak first proper WRC outing and even if he is on other, unproven tyres - we would be in trouble. Matt Wilson's huge experience in WRC doesn't weight much when it's put against guts, bravery and hunger of young Tänak. If you've seen Tänak live this year, you'll remember the name. Heck, Tänak is almost faster than Wilson (and many others) on Fiesta S2000, so adding a turbo shouldn't slow him down.

Fights don't look classes... Overall results matter too. Nikara has flashed some amazing speed lately so I'm expecting an interesting battle. R4 still isn't as fast as expected (perhaps excluding MML's Evo 10 with Ketomaa).

Not that long back from Clocaenog, great company today, ok rallying...however....a spectator car park that was rougher than most whites on a road rally then a 2 mile plus walk up DESERTED tracks to the stage. [:x] ....whoever planned the spectator parking in Cloccy needs to think again for next year....i'm mystified how anyone with kids or with difficulty walking could get in there. Amazed how quiet it was too???? [ :s ]

So narked off that i'm not going tomorrow now, may go to Hafren on Saturday see if the 'love' returns..

Good to see the MINIS going well, and congrats to Clwyd Vale Motor Club running the spectator area so efficiently.. [:Y:]

To play the supporting role requires also to have a CAUTION to finish the rally. And Ogier crashed the wall at the EXTRA CAUTION stage which is also just 4km and the start of the rally. I am very clear I think.

I agree. A supporting driver should not be pushing as hard as he does. He obviously didn't crash on purpose, he is just pushing so hard. Stupid 4km stage.
