You don't follow IRC than. Peugeot won the first round this year (OK, with some luck) and there was also a Peugeot driver leading in the most recent IRC round in Spain, who finished only 8"2 behind the winner. Škoda won 14 SS so far this season in IRC and Peugeot 12. There is a Peugeot driver on the second place in the championship, so you can't say that Škoda is dominating so far this year. I am sure the IRC has again much more different winners than the WRC this year. In the most recent IRC rally, the top 6 finished within one minute and the top 3 within 9 seconds.

I dont watch much IRC, although I'm sure I'd like it. The trouble is, its so hard to follow. Its kinda like GP2 in a way, where the winner of that event(irc) ends up at the top level of the sport(wrc)
Although, with competition like that, you cant complain:-)

Back on topic, what will replace sardinia next year?

Hope SanRemo. :)

San Remo will never be back in the WRC, there's not enough money to organize a world rally-level event.

I think they'll come back again in Sardinia, with some stages and ceremony near Rome, in the mainland...

Really hope it does because last week was the perfect rally holiday. Every possible gravel feature is there, the climate was superb and the scenery and wildlife fantastic. A beautiful island that I shall go back to as often as Ryanair deals permit.

Great set Rhod, Shows off everything that's so good about the event. Particularly like the one of La Gloriosa cocking a wheel.

Back from Tuesday and I also had a great trip to Sardinia!
Beautifull rally - jumps, splashes, fast corners, great scenery, etc. everything a rallyfan wants!
We saw 10 stages of the 18
I hope this event will be on the calender the couple of years!
I hope to get some shots on beginning of next week...

Agree - spectacular rally and would be good to see it in the future calendar

Toscany gravel a benchmark and hard to beat and everyone wish to back. As the clear tarmac San Remo - for me less spectacular than Sardenga even it is a classic rally.

Sanremo was spectacular when they went for 2 or 3 days on gravel in Tuscany and Umbria! As an only tarmac rally it's demanding for the drivers but not that fun to watch for spectators, in my opinion!

Very nice picture of Mini. If it weren't for that one branch that blurs bit too much of the roof, it would downright perfect, iconic. As it is, it's still is very good. Other pics too.

Yes, I agree that this flaw to spoil the little frame. My guess MINI flight was supposed to be somewhat lower, but it was one of the best on this trampoline ...)))...

I think that none wants to do the 48kms stage for the first time with minimal grip tommorow...so Latvala has to try and extend his lead as much as possible today......Loeb could easily cut 30-40 seconds off the leader tommorow.

Wow, just watching the 2011 WRC Access All Areas here in the US. First time for this one, I usually watch the day by day versions. Of course it is delayed a few weeks, we don't get it live. I'm listening to Latvala's engineer explain under steer and over steer. I swear he said "Under steer is generally caused by the front of the car being softer than the rear". A little later he says that oversteer is the opposite, "It's where the rear of the car is stiffer than the front". That's not right, It's the same thing! If the front is softer then the back must be stiffer! I'm surprised nobody caught this.
