Sandell faster on first split then the Hollandian boys with their big WRC's. :D

Yes, Marcus on the pace but not so sure about Subaru.

He got -09 data in the car and fixed the steering. Maybe that helped him.

Anyway, I consider Loeb and Marcus kind of guys who would drive a lawnmover and still got podium. :)

I'm sure he would if Marcus would make a fulltime comeback but we know he won't so no need to cry over that.

Holland with 4 teams, that is not bad. But are these more of the gentleman type of drivers, doing it for fun, or does anyone of them have a plan of becoming the world champ ?

They do it for fun. Dennis Kuipers won Lausitz Rally 2008 with Focus WRC just a few seconds before Peter Corazza in a Lancer Evo 7 Group N. That says enough I think. ;)

It's amazing how old man (41) is driving... I guess his road-position compensated his car weakness in last ss but considering all things stunning time. With proper car Grönholm could still be match to Loeb on gravel.

lol it's like that Rocky parody, the "never-wrong" expert said "I think that either Rocky or Ivan Drago will win" xD

I suspect he's getting a bad car, no way he can be so slow now .. and in Cyprus all those errors in a single stage, clearly some problems (steering ?) with the car.

Go Marcus O_o

What is going on Petter's mind now?? Yes, the rally is still at it's early stage but still, Marcus has shown Subie can be pushed on podium pace with proper testrun....

Maybe the biggest lack at Prodrive was gap of communication last year?

Petter-s position was also very good last year on every rally, so it can be that Marcus is little bit faster with same car.
Imagine if he was involved in developing and testing of that car like Petter, he would be probably even more faster.

I think that Prodrive is too long in bussines and they are very professional, so lack of communication isn`t good explanation for bad results.

I disagree.

I think Finni hit a bullseye with his comment. What Petter needs from his car seem to be god's own little mystery. It's no secret he (Petter) was very frustrated about the performance not only the car but also Prodrive of not providing him a winning car. Maybe he needs more sensitive car for his style where Marcus settles for more simple car ??? Anyway, how many times in the last couple of years we saw that Atkinson was beeter comfortable with his car than Petter.

With communication gap I meant Petter and the laptop guys.

C´mon now... I am trying to spread some positive wibes :D
It is great just to have Bosse IN the rally!
I´m fine with Loeb winning, what is really interesting is pondering a bit about Solberg/Atko/Subies contra Fords and Cits. No one can ever tell who is the best driver, but the fact that so many are driving "new" cars poses for interesting implications.

So come on! happy days are here again, at least for the weekend!

These comments on Latvala will soon be stuck in your throat. He will be a Legend and a champion for sure. He simply has some issues to get through. Yes it may take some time. But I think Malcolm is, and will keep giving him all the chances he needs. At the moment he is the only one that has shown speeds capable of beating Loeb, second to Gronholm. For sure he's not currently a very good number two, but he was never meant to be number 2. It's not of his nature.

You could well be right but not this season and I imagine the pressure on Wilson to deliver results from his sponsors and from Ford must be enormous. Latvala needs benched for 2 or 3 events, he needs to sort out his head and get his confidence back. Stick PG or Marcus in the car until Latvala gets his problems and emotions sorted.

Maybe the biggest lack at Prodrive was gap of communication last year?
Its a shame that Prodrive finally produced a rally car after drivers that have been loyal to them stuck with a pile of sh*t. The new S15 was always due for launch at Portugal, with the Ohlins, revised geometry and steering. So please can we keep this in perspective this car, allthough downplayed by Prodrive the car Marcus is driving is the long awaited proper S14, S14+ or even as I suspect S15, allthough officially that could not be homologated as SWRT had withdrawn.

This was the car Petter and Chris were due to have in the 2009 season, but not for the first 3 events. Revised car was always planned for Portugal, and you can bet that additional resources have been channeld into it. Prodrive have no manufacturer contract and want to show what they can acheive.

Are you drunken? After so much starts in WRC, this accidents may not happen almost every rally. Two years ago, I would say he is a WRC champion in the future, but now I have my doubts he will ever be a WRC champion.

I think you're putting too much value in single events. Periods of consecutive retirements are quite normal, and some drivers just have this issue more than others. Like C.Mcrae. I think people are expecting consistency just a bit too early for him, simply because everyone can see he is very quick. I expect a lot of mess this year, but for 2010 I'm sure he will have many wins and will be the first year he has potential to take the championship. Of course, it's gonna be a bit hard, since Loeb and Hirvonen are so extremely consistent. They can win even without any 1st finishes. But event victories for sure he will get quite a few I think.

But I must point out that he has been driving in the WRC now for six years which is a huge amount of time to get used to driving them.

He is a good driver but just can't deal with any pressure. Not what you would expect of a world champion in any sport.

Latvala's car went over the top of an armco barrier, and continued rolling for some distance - ending up 50 metres off the road. The Ford Focus came to rest against a tree, which prevented it from falling down an enormous drop.

The team reports that the car has been 'destroyed' and there is no chance that Latvala will be able to restart tomorrow.

You are right! I was too angry at first (Ford was in my locked team in one game;-)). The reality is that he needs to stay in Stobbart for couple of events while someone does his work in Ford.

Duval's co-driver injured co-driver was Patrick Pivato.

In those cases car was brought to halt within very small distance, all the kinetic energy was dissipated very quickly and creating much bigger damage. In this case, as in most long rolls, car sheds the energy for longer period of time and the most dangerous part is debris flying inside the cockpit, especially if windows get smashed.

One wonders how in the hell did Galli and Duval's co-driver (sorry i forgot his name) broke a leg, and now JM walks unharm (sort of), tha't thing is luck kid, and you better stuck to it....
Leaderboard-wise I think that Loeb is playing low-profile to avoid road sweeping.

"We are measuring speed of your internet connection, please wait."

When you see a green box with text "Jatka" click it and there you go :)

Satans språket!!! What's this message: ''Virheellinen kaistanleveys''

I checked my laundry, the stove is off, I get no green box ei jatka, ei mahorka,

I honestly think JML is the only driver who has the pace to beat Loeb. Ford need to nurture him - be it in Stobart or Manu Ford.
