Tommorow Dudu could be almost as fast as Seb is, but the difference tends to be unbeatable...
That's the price to pay when starting in the back of the pack and not competing in the whole championship though...

Typical WRR. They get the splits back are they only give the times for Van Eldik and Al Crapsimi. A time for Duval would be nice?!?!?!?!?

Nothing, just curious as they are "capital destination" and official partner but do not feature very high on my holiday destinations list. Not that I wouldn't mind going there but... is it worth it? what's there to see? to do? to avoid?

Thanks for the splits.
Regarding Abu Dhabi, then they will be the first to have a completely non-poluting city. Everything in the city will be solar power and wind mill power. It's not as spectacular as Dubai, but overall I am not keen on those two places. Too much "Nouvo Riche" and almost no history or cultur (IMHO).

It is just one hour driv (or a little more) from Dubai. A long straigt highway throught the dessert, all sorrouended by incipient artificially irrigated planted trees (they say it could take decades or them to grow some centimeters).
Nice city (very hot both tiems I ve been there).
But nohing special.
Dubai is much worth, plenty af places, complexes, etc.
Anyway, I have been there in 2001 and 2003, prior to the over 100 dollars petrol price. They must have don plenty of thingswith a massive flow of money..................

True, but my favorite country in the world is actually your country. I absolutely LOVE Argentina. It's the most fantastic and friendly people in the world and I spend christmas and new years (in Punta del Este in Uruguay) in BA. After that we were 3 friends in an open jeep driving from BA over the pampas to Mendoza (on a wine tour), San Juan, Los Alamos and then up to Aconcagua. Then back to BA via Cordoba and Rosario.
Was sooooo close to buying an apartment in BA :D Still considering it...

I think I will see the rally there next time I go to ARG. But you are right. I flew 3 hours from Copenhagen to Madrid. Then waited 5 hours to get on board the flight to BA. And then a 13 hour flight, which is a true killer. Then of course Iberia forgot to get my suitcase on the flight, so I had to go to Abasto in BA for 4 days to buy clothes.
And stay away from the River-Boca soccer game. That's just crazy. Enjoy one of the fantastic steaks in stread. There are some really good places in Bario de Palermo (district in BA).

Under my protection - of course! Especially now as we have 2 world-level rallies:
1. an IRC round close to the historical and cultural capital of Russia (Pietari)
2. a WRC candidate event in the Black Sea resort city of Novorossiysk.
So, coming to venajan rallies you can enjoy both sightseeing and relaxing ;)
And actually yes, north-western and central parts of Russia are quite safe for travelling. But going over the Urals... I wouldn't advice.

I don´t think so Jaani. Something will happen this afternoon.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feared already longer that there will happen something this year.
I hope it is not serious with Galli.
The current WRC cars become always faster. They become simply dangerous. Why firstly something serious must happen before the F.I.A. take decisions. :dozey:

Excuse if I get sentimental but I think it speaks a lot of us as a family, visiting and wanting to visit each others' countries, hospitality offered by local hosts and so on. Doesn't happen (seemingly at least) that often in F1.
Mexico is another place that is interesting but equally deterring, having heard of the road banditry and such.
but top on my list would be rally finland :=):
Living here kinda takes the sharpest edge out of it though it always is a thriller due to great atmosphere. This year there wasn't that big competition, just two drivers out to win it but good rally anyway.

I think that Park's fatal accident really shook things up, since then we've had HANS and recently the increased kinetic energy dissipators on the seats, in most cars the driver and co-driver also sit closer together than before, helmets have gotten bigger and there is the talk about shock-absorbing door elements (those haven't yet been taken into use, have they?) so steps in safety have been taken.
Having said that, I do share your concern. There simply must not be any more fatalities, competitors or spectators.

I would say it's similar to what White Sauron has said about Russia, there are parts in Mexico that it's dangerous to wander around (and they are not tourist apealing either), and it's not due to banditry ir such; but then againt the safety on tourist sites its great now but i understand that its quite a long trip from anywhere to here.
it's a bad end to this day1, but then again it hasn't been such an exciting event, pitty that Duval is denied of setting good times on these last 2 stages.
Hope he can fight alongside mikko and dani.

Huge hit for Gigi. It just shows that in places this rally really can bite. It reminded me somewhat of Schwarz's crash in 03 into the trees on a similar right hander, but Gigi was airbourne in this one.
It looked like a stone had been dug up due to cutting to the corner throughout the previous run. It didn't look to me like Gigi was cutting excessively it was just an unfortunate accident.
I'm sure Gigi will be fine to get back in the car again eventually, he just maybe wont be able to apply as much force to the brake pedal - which could be an advantage!

My model was right today:-) There was no rain.
For tomorrow, there is very, very tiny chance of rain between 14:00 and 17:00 but the possibility is as small as the possibility that Loeb gets 1:30 min penalty because he slept in and could not reach to car in the right time :-) For Sunday, it looks that there wont be any rain before the end of rally :-) It looks like it could be rally Germany without any rain:-)
PS! There is no chance for overnight rain as well

The level in 2005 was a lot higher than this year, more factory teams and there were more top drivers. Sorry to say, but even Atkinson in a slow Subaru stays before him in the championship... Ford has gambled heavily for Panzerplatte, but also heavily lost.

Everything else looks quite normal in Germany.
Loeb was and remains the absolute favorite for the win, Sordo needs to justify his position in Citroen, Hirvo is just picking as much points the Citroen guys allow him and Dudu good showing, I don't think would do any better since too much time out of a works seat, would be great to keep a top 4 spot.

No. But it's not obvious any standard of having Ford seat.
--------
Contrary what few people said there is no evidence about team-orders in Ford. I would be rather surprised if they would execute team-order at so early point. Team-orders are possible but they are scarcely executed in the way that puts Duval's overall performance to look bad. Also Duval's interview had no hints to that direction.
At that point it seems that Dudu had little bit more speed with the old Xsara than with the Ford.
