With 14 cars to go the track is yellow for rain. Boris Said is on the pole, but if qualifing isn't completed they go to series points and Boris doesn't make the race. :-(

This is where NASCAR needs to take a look at qualifying and change to a "rain date" system and a backup practice speed-based system.

    Here's how it would work:

    1. If qualifying is not complete, NASCAR would have the right to allow the cars to finish qualifying the next morning.

    2. If a one-day race is rained out, or if qualifying is just before the race and both are rained out, the entire field will qualify before the race.

    3. If at least one full practice session is held, qualifying times would be based on practice speeds, with the seven fastest practice speeds among non-exempt cars guaranteed a spot in the field. The 43rd slot will go to a past series champion, but may go to the eighth-fastest car in practice. It will not matter if a driver is eligible or not for the past champion's provisional, similar to the points grid.

The system rewards those who have attempted to participate in the cup series the most. Because Boris runs a super limited schedual, he didn't make the cut. It is a shame that he didn't make it, but why punish a more loyal team...

It's a shame that Boris didn't make it but at least he's not whining like the owner of MWR is.
