Tanak does enjoy this rally! I've been critical of him but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy seeing him top the times.

Nice and tight at the top of the leaderboard.

He enjoys it and its the first time this season when the tires are on the same level with Michelins. Finland should be great too and then comes nightmare with 4 tarmac rallies in a row.

“We have actually been happily surprised by our speed this morning. We’re just using this year to learn the stages so I wasn’t expecting to be as close as we are. We’re not pushing, but of course you always push a little bit. We’re not at 100 percent so it’s good to see that the speed is already there”

Mads Østberg (10th) said:

“I was expecting to enjoy this rally, and I am enjoying the stages. It’s fantastic to drive a rally car on roads like this. But at the same time, I’m here to compete, and I want to be more competitive. We’ve been trying, but we made two mistakes on the last two stages [SS4 and SS5]. With two mistakes in two stages, we lost quite a lot of time. The flow of the driving has been nice, so we just need to try and pull everything together this afternoon.”

SS6 is almost done and not dramas yet, not even among top wrc2 drivers.
It's a bit unusual.
