Terrible rain this evening followed by a spectacular rainbow.
The hail in Bucharest ( fortunately not on my street) made the city look like in winter.

A cold front is coming through today and summer may be finally over. The migrating geese turned up three weeks ago so I think winter's coming sooner than people expect.

    Amazing

How rare is snow in your parts in September? I mean you obviously have bad winters (compared to us UK softy's) but I assume its rare to see snow this early.
I still exist and still find the forum occasionally. Busy busy

A few flakes in late September wouldn’t be uncommon, but over 15cm in mid-month is rare.

The problem with this much snow is that the leaves are still on the trees, which when combined with the weight of the wet snow, cause branches to break, and even trees to topple. Despite much of the snow now melted, the streets are littered with branches and broken trees, and some neighbourhoods are still without electricity due to downed power lines.

7 deg. C here today but it's supposed to warm up to 20C by next week
