Why no #6? Hasn't that been a Penske number for a looooong time?

Ryan also got a new engineer and Penske wanted to use the #2 again. They have used that number in the past.

Penske has used 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,12,17,31,66,68, and those are just the ones off the top of my head! So, it's not uncommon for Roger to do this sort of thing.

Yeah, I know he's used lots of numbers. But I thought 6 was his (Penske's) number. I'm thinking back to the Donohue days, and my minds eye is always picturing his cars with 6 or 66 on them. It's not really a big deal in the scheme of things, just sort of curious to me. Oh well.

Could it be that Miller wants to extend it's Penske sponsorship into IndyCar?
