Don't know if this has been reported already but Meeke said the 208 won't be homologated until 1st January 2014. He made great emphasis that there is still work to do on the engine.

It seems that Skoda can do the same again and do loads of testing and not homologate until they have the best car again

Skoda will be late into R5 with the new shape Fabia so Ford and Peugeot will have a head start.

    True.
Suppose Fiat had a head start too.
But it is a pity that Skoda will not debut early next season, would certainly make things very interesting.
Renault and Toyota eventually too would be good.

Anybody know if this guy Boullier is any good?

From: Ypres ERC: Freddy Loix on course for eighth victory - ERC news - AUTOSPORT.com

"Hunting down Bryan Bouffier for second has not proved so simply.

After Breen initially carved into his fellow Peugeot driver's advantage, Boullier began to inch away again, bringing the gap back up to half a minute."

    "Simply"?

On the last stage (which was cancelled after all) Neuville did 15m57s. Can't find Sołowow time (ss 20) but it was sth about 16m45s. Considering that Loix was about 1s/km quicker that him, when he was pushing, S2000 is about 1s/km slower than R5.

A tweet from Colin Clart might indicate it's correct value:
    Colin Clark
Spoken with the boys in the R5s and looks like they are 1sec/km quicker than S2000. Feeling is they are at least 1.5sec/km slower than WRC.

Anyone know what top speeds the R5s were recording on Ypres? This could have been a big advantage there.

Having watched some more footage from Ypres, the Peugeot really sounds a lot better than the Ford. The Fiesta barely sounds better than Aigner's Impreza

I thought the engine rules for R5 should have made them rev higher and sound better than RRC for example, but at the moment they seem to have neither low down torque nor rev particularly high. I know the limit is 7500RPM but it doesn't sound like they are using that, other than in top gear?
