    Kiwis go to hell

.......to help Aussis. In a move that shows the greatest compassion and consideration for their traditional sporting enemies, the Kiwi firefighters have arrived to help our firefighters in a huge bushfire that could engulf a fifth of the state of Victoria.
The fire front is so dangerous that firefighters can only fight it from teh flanks as they expect very high winds to sweep the flames at high speeds southward.

I really feel for these firefighters because the temperature in northern victoria will be in the forties, and god knows what it will be when these guys go in - it will be like going to hell.

Let's hope they all come out of this safely. Thanks Kiwis - you're the best!!

I posted this a week ago, and it is terrible to learn that 7 Kiwi firefighters were overun by a fireball and suffered burns, one of them seriously. I really respect what these guys are doing here in Victoria in this dreadful bushfire.

    Thanks Kiwis

When it comes down to it, we have a lot of rivalry in Sport etc, but we are really close. Thanks for your help. Respect is certainly the word Valve.

Aussies should always remember that the ANZACs were more than just Aussie soldiers.

Amen to that! It's symbolic of the friendship our two countries have had since . No matter what Howard might say, our two best friends in this world are the poms and the kiwi's They'll always have our backs and we'll always have theirs. Thanks guys

The smoke haze from this fire has really sucked. It's effect has really spread to all sides of the state.

Here's a photo I took over the bay.

The smoke has affected our sunsets here a little as well! I didn't actualy realise that we had firefighters over there at all. Tremendous effort they are making, that must be some bushfire.

It's amazing the power of a forest fire like that. Good luck to everyone fighting it.
Give Leon a kick and tell him to get to work!
