The FIA calender of the European championship 2009 is - in my opinion - a scandal. Norway has since 1980 been one of the sporting cornerstones of this championship, with numerous winners and champions and hundreds of competitors taking part in events. Together with Sweden, Norway has been the most successful country, and we have had a European championship round unbroken since 1980. Suddenly we are kicked out of the championship, despite delivering more participating drivers into the championship in 2008 than any other nation. The FIA Offroad Commisssion, responsible for kicking Norway out in the cold, is led by a selfproclaimed "dictator" from Belgium, a nation that represents only a coouple of active drivers supporting the championship.

Norways ERC-round at the Momarken track has admittedly not been the greatest of successes during the last three years, and has also lacked in organisational skills. But Norway hasn`t been alone in delivering dodgy events, and there is always room for improvement. To kick out the strongest nation from the calender is in any case a scandalous decision from FIA.

Trusting that Lydden gets approved I'll be off down this year. Havent been to a Euro round since Schanche and Gollop were locking horns in the RS200 and Metro 6R4 in the early 90s!

Yes, it is a scandal that there isn't Norway in the calendar but also the Netherlands. I was going in the past years to the ERC events in the Netherlands and Belgium. For me, the atmosphere, the people, the entry list and off course the girls ( )... are much better in the Netherlands than in Belgium.

Agreed. The Eurocirquit at Valkenswaard har been staging more ERC-events than any other track, I was there first time in 1979. I don`t know the reason for kicking out this race, was it the Bermingrud accident and allegations that the track was unsafe?
