Sounds terrible but looks faster than the current R2. Anyway, it’ll be a crime if Peugeot doesn’t release a R5 version; it’d look smashing!
Btw, it went under the forum radar but Renault is also sorting R1/R2 versions of the new Clio 1.3T; apparently the R1 model (180cv) will be initially released to be used in one make series but a R2 kit could soon follow. Public presentation during Rallye Couer de France (28/30 Sep).

@RallyPower, from what I heard from someone who knows his business around Renault Sport, the Clio will be again a R3T car.

That would be a surprise. The new R1/R2/R3 rules have turned R1 into a sort of R2- and R3 into a R2+, as they all can now get a 5 speed sequential gearbox and a turbo engine up to 1333cc (with tuning levels upgraded according to the class). The new Clio has 1323cc and Renault Sport main aim is to provide an economical car for their rally cups; it’d be strange if they choose to develop it under the more expensive R3 class.
Anyway, from what I’ve heard (and mostly read) RS will start with a cheaper Clio (limited to 180cv) for rally cups use (probably a R1 or a ligth spec R2) and later provide a Kit (full R2 or, less likely, R3) for the drivers/teams eager to figth for 2wd wins. At the end of the month we’ll know better.Rally addict since 1982

Does anyone know if the FIA has ideas for a new kit car category but 2wd?
And by the way, besides the next 208 and Corsa R2, are there other cars coming in the near future?

Rather than reforming the R3 category, FIA could make a R4-KIT category but with 200hp and 2wd.

I don't see any point in doing that and absolutely no chance it could succeed.

Clearly the FIA should not have such an idea in mind but I think they should make for a larger amount of 2wd cars. A new Maxi kit cars from the 90s.
M-Sport/ Ford have been testing using a 'simulator' in the USA. They say its helped improve the Puma Rally1 car, especially for tarmac. Does anyone know what this simulator could be like ? Story...
