At this point I think it would be rather silly for anyone in the top of the sport to make a move for next year, unless that is their only option to retain a seat somehow. The new regs with active aero will probably really shake the field up. Not only is it a game of who gets the aero package right, but both the ICE and deployment modes will change in a huge way compared to what we have now. Some claim Merc is again ahead in the ICE department, but Honda was very crafty in getting more out of deployment modes and harvesting.
We know many of the top drivers have or will have options. But to jump to soon might limit them to finding out too late.

As much as Newey is regarded as the current guru of aero, this active aero formula might really mix things up. I'm almost expecting that aero modes combined with energy modes will have to integrate more closely, and finding any perfect balance is going to be really tricky.
And I hate to say it, but I think racing as we know it will change quite a bit. And I'm not sure if it will be for the better or worse really. Acceleration should be greater, but if they don't figure things out there might be a lot of end of straight clipping and power reduction for charging.

The smoke continues to be seen percolating around RB and Max leaving for Mercedes. It would be interesting to see Max and see if how he does.
But if Max does leave, does Red Bull become a mid-field team?
Italian news reports that Kimi Antonelli may be going to Alpine.Last edited by F1nKS; 17th July 2025 at 21:50.

It seems that rumors are getting stronger that Yuki will be gone at the end of the year. The way that second seat eats up drivers it wouldn't shock me.
