    Only 21 starters for the WRC event, plus 7 'nationals'. The 2016 Rally Argentina has the smallest entry since the WRC's creation in 1973.

    Well those national cars are also driving in the WRC event, they are just not eligible for points.

    It's still very small number of locals in the event. Why is that so? Even in not FIA-recognized 2010 IRC edition there were 56 South American crews. Now 10. Something went terribly wrong if in a big motorsport-mad country there is no interest in major world championship event.

    I dont know how alternator belts are displayed in a WRC car but if it's any similar to a road car, which almost always has the belt very exposed, you could see how they would break easily with all those rocks and particles.
