    I think they had to register last year or they were confined to the national event. Don't think that's the case this year.

    But most of them (at least Moffetts, Thorburn, McCormack) were thinking also about other starts in ERC. This year is different with the plans of brittish drivers...

    Unfortunatelly, no. This payment is going directly to FIA. And there is no chance to negotiate with them. Only one chance is to find somebody who pay it (organiser? additional sponsor? Eurosport?)

    I was offering to make "national" priority, which should be much cheaper (lets say 500 euro), when the drivers will be allowed to start in front of the field, but without chance for prize money. But it was refused, AFAIK by FIA...

    Well, these guys who can pay 30-40k € for a rent of top R5 can also pay 3k for registration...

    Tonmmy Doyle didn't pay it last year and was rather invisible on his way to a decent 7th in his Fabia S2000 but was still running in the international section
