Seb has said that he did see him. He said that they skim walls about 50mm away and it's not that different from skimming a person at the same distance. As far as Loeb is concerned he doesn't want to hit either.

They were nearly stopped. Actually there was a small ditch between me and the cars. At the speed they had there, it was still possible for me to take the escape route before they would reach me. I always make sure I can get away in time from where I'm standing, and have asked people to move a bit so they wouldn't block my "emergency exit".
