For the 1st time in the Russian Rally Cup 16-years old driver won the competition. Evgeniy Novikov, the son of E-ART rally team owner Maxim Novikov, have shown beautiful and very fast driving. Extremely fast - on rally "Gukovo 2006", the 4th stage of Russian Rally Championship, where young pilot took part under special decision of our Automobile Federation, he won the rally in overall with 5 (!!!) minutes to the 2nd place!

And this year Evgeniy starts Russian Championship and some stages of Estonian Championship on his new cars - Mitsubishi Evo9 GrN and Subaru Impreza N12...

Hello Alex,

Some fans in Poland are wondering what happened with the factory Lada team. They had developed both kit car and Super 2000 car and had a good driver (Nykonenko). But where are they now? Do you know any plans of Lada team for 2007 season?

Hello, Jarek!

As to LADA team, as far as I know they plans some starts in rally-raids, using Nissan or Mitsu 4WD. The plant has its sport division, they are trying to get omologation to LADA Kalina and to build rally cars from this car. So as I know, S2000 project is forgotten, the uniqual car went to rally distance for 1 time - at rally Trophy Peno 2005.

Now we have few LADA kit cars in Russia, and they will start in 2007, but these cars belongs not to the AvtoVAZ team...
