I realize that but that doesn't eliminate the possibility that someone made up a photo depicting the incident. In fact the closer you look the more obvious it becomes that is a photoshop.

Why would someone photoshop that?

Looks fine to me. I know that sometimes I take photos at events that, straight from the camera, look as though they must have been photoshopped as it isn't exactly "right". It happens

the next pic in the gallery is the car in the same position with all the safety marshals around it and both pics are also available at the official IRL website. both sites also give the name of the photographer

Digital image effect or touchup maybe. I know it happened, the picture just looks odd.

Looks very good indeed, and very convincing, to me if the car has been placed on the track by someone using a photoshop. Wish I could use the facilities in my photo software installed on my PC (PhotoImpression 4 or PhotoStudio 5) in such a way to make such a convincing edit.

I think the car is just at a particular angle so that it's perpendicular to the photographer, that way it appears to have been dropped in because in the rest of the picture everything is at an angle to the camera.
Remember that the picture has also been reduced in size, that itself can often add artefacts to the image. Please 'like' our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/motorsportforums
