Just taken delivery of Adam Jones' Leon. Got it from a Spanish seller for £16 in total! Took 5 days to arrive, amazing. Some UK sellers should take a leaf from their book!

    It's a nice model isn't it!

I'm hoping they decide to do a Boardman BTCC 2010/11 model some time.

It's really nice for the money. I actually think it's the Altaya distributor that I bought it from, going by what's on the invoice.

A Boardman model would be good, as would the other Leons we've seen here. But I think those are only ever likely to be available if somebody does a conversion, which is a shame.

In the last couple of days I've received the two TWR Volvo 850's from the BTCC in 1995 in 1:18 scale. Fully opening and fully detailed, they are stunning! Going for about £100 on Ebay or £130 at GPL. I got my Rydell one for £70 by reserve ordering ages ago!! Well worth that price.

Rydell Estate supposed to be released this year too. The models are really really good, had some problems with the Rydell one that had to go back but replacement arrived this morning and is perfect. Anyone whose had a V8 Supercar 1:18 model from Australia will know what to expect, full wiring and cockpit detail inside, as well as having fully opening doors, bonnet and boot. Lovely models.

The prices of models these days are crazy. There's 3 Racing Replicas Cavaliers on eBay with about 20 mins to go, all at £50+! I got my 2 for £35-£40 each a few years back. I was watching the Ecurie Ecosse car, but I can't justify £60 or more on an old model of poor quality like the RR ones are. That's about 90% of a tank of fuel for me!

Racing Replicas are not the best, but apart from those there is not alot of choice if you want a BTCC Cavalier, ok there are the odd resin kit knocking about, but unless you are a pro builder or you know one then Racing Replica models is as good as it gets, and they are very rare. I am not at all surprised they went for 60 quid or so, indeed i have seen them fetch more.

However, you do have a valid point Iain, prices of models do seem to be higher now, which is good if you are selling. But too many of them on eBay are offered at a buy it now price, too many dealers perhaps? anyway there are not the bargains that there once was on eBay, not any more.

daz90 has hit the nail on the head, if you want a bargain Ebay is not your place anymore. There are just too many people that use it and your chances of getting a bargain are very slim. I got my 1993 cleland cavalier last year for £25 if i remember correctly but that was because i contacted the seller as soon as it came on so really its about luck.

What i do find wierd is that the RR models go for £50+ when they are limited to 7500 pieces but yet the Onyx models are limited to 2000 pieces but go for between £10-30? But as Iain says models are going for crazy prices at the moment maybe because BTCC is more popular than what it was a few years ago when you could get the models very cheap.

I did a deal with someone last week for an RR 1995 Valvoline Mondeo for £30, sorry if anyone was watching it

I'm looking to convert a 1:18 Chevrolet Cruze model I acquired last year into a full race model. Currently it has two seat in it (both race seats) like a rally car, and is liveried in base WTCC 2009 colours (no numbers, driver names, colours etc). I'm undecided as to whether to just do a simple conversion into a WTCC 2009 car, probably Menu's, or something a bit harder, like turning it into Plato's championship winning Cruze of '10, which would require custom decals of which I have no experience. Either way I'm going to have to get some 1:18 door plate number and window names. Anyone know of somewhere that does them?
