Max - How to Improve Formula 1 Racing
Max Verstappen laid out what he believes would “improve” Formula 1:
1. Fewer races on the calendar
2. Only "good" tracks
3. Limit the number of street tracks
4. Two-day race weekends instead of three
5. No sprint races
6. Minimal practice — just one session, then qualifying and the race
He framed it as improving the sport, but I think it only enhances his personal quality of life. Liberty has to get its investment back and make money, so I don't see them doing anything that cuts revenue.
F1 drivers' commitments in terms of days are similar to those in other pro sports like soccer, the NFL, the NBA, and MLB. The only thing is that they do have more significant travel.
