Which is exactly like it was 40 years ago as well in the last few stages. Of course they can remove the tyre saving, but you won't see them fighting for position on a 60km sunday when the gaps are one minute or more, not even a longer sunday would change that to be honest.

A tyre change zone before PS would help sometimes and more Rally1 cars would always help, the first one is easy to do from the next rally even. Both should be done really.

But if gap is one minute more or less, you can´t stop fighting. Wkat do you as a competitor know what happens to other crews/cars? You never give up fighting if there´s a chance for better positions, just because anything can happen.
Slowing down an then loose a podium with a couple of seconds bcs you didn´t fight. Nah. No competitor does that.

But luckily the marshall got communicated (by the Media/Stage Marshall?) through his walkie that the photographer was allowed to be just in front of the fence, but not in between. Can someone explain what the stage reglementation says about this kind of situation. At some point the stage marshall was treathening to halt the stage because the photographer wasn't listening but luckily both kept there cool and no interuption occurred ...
Where they are allowed to go/stand and where they are not for every stage is explained (with diagrams) in the Media Guide given to all accredited media personnel.

There can be some "a bit cruising mode" for Rally2 also, but Pajari has shown really good times.

    RC2 leg 3 only (SS16 + SS17 + SS18) before PowerStage.

    1. Pajari
    2. Solberg +17.4
    3. Grazin +21.7
    4. Fourmaux +25.9
    5. Mikkelsen +31.2
    6. Suninen +31.8

    edit: better/fresh tires?

Maybe. And nothing to go for actually. Solberg though needs PS points.
