It exists because burning your hands is something you really don't want. But because the codriver has to be able to flip papers, he physically can't wear fireproof gloves.

There is a good reasoning to make for keeping your gloves on till after the time control.

Don´t make sense to me. After the finish line, that is.

I always thought that gloves is for getting better grip with steering wheel 🤔

Could be the issue is ensuring the driver maintains full control in the flying finish? removing gloves means taking hands off the wheel.

    what..?!
No real point in this answer.
I'm not writing to bring up random argument, but this rule(okay stupid is tooo sensitive word) just doesn't make sense.
If needed, co-drivers could use ,,rubber-fingerdip'' gloves and all good, but there has remained some common sense and reality, that drivers use gloves for grip and co-drivers don't coz it would be too unconfortable and unnecessary.

Cmon.. is it a common thing that drivers are going 100-150+kmh thru finish and already taking off gloves?

I Seem to remember that in the past you could get co Drivers Fia gloves, Which were just up to the Knuckles leaving finger tips free to turn the pages and press buttons etc, not sure what happened to them.

I´m pretty sure Oliver wore gloves while doing donuts in Portugal. However the driver, going in 100+ km/h speed don´t mix with his gloves, not even after finish line. But coming down to proper speed they sure can handle the car at the same time.

Tell that to Marcus Gronholm and Timo Rautiainen who had a big accident after the finish line just last week....

There's a wrecked Subaru WRc car that would beg to differ with your assertion.
