Not bad at all in the end. 5th would have been maximum from here so he lost 10 points in the end we can say.

But no question for me that he is the quickest driver in the championship when pushing. Proved it again today

Now do you guys see why I'd prefer having Ogier do the full championship, only 12(!) points separating the top 5 drivers, when was the last time we had this? (& mind you it's only 3 manufacturers).
Really glad Tänak could take those extra bonus points from Rovanperä.

Once again a tremendous comeback from Thierry Neuville from 6th after SS 4 to 2nd at the finish

I think here Rovanperä gave them away.

Anyway, if was interesting and intense PowerStage. Nice to see most of them were pushing for points.

As I said time and again, when Rovanperä saw the competition isn't even near him, he was playing with them; However from the second half of the season, if you'd compare the points tally between Tänak & Rovanperä you'll see the difference being reduced with Tänak also taking 3 wins with a car he hasn't properly gelled yet. This year he's (Rovanperä ) already feeling the pressure and he won't have it that easy. I won't be surprised if he'll start making mistakes soon (which he hardly done last year).

No problems for Ogier, I'm sure he's enjoying starting rallies from far back
Great rally by Neuville and Evans, they pushed very hard in a 2 day long fight and they didn't make big mistakes, only 0.4 s at the end.
I think some are underestimating Kalle. In my opinion those 4th places a driver scraps in his "bad" rallies are the most essential thing for the championship. He might not have been blindly faster than the others like last year, but it was a mature drive, he clearly couldn't do more than 4th.
Good job by Greensmith and Solberg too.

Also it was only his second time here, and last time was cut short for Rovanperä. On the other hand this was, what?, Ogier's 13th time here, it's his second best rally after Monte-Carlo. Have to agree, great fight by Evans & Neuville, hopefully next time it'll be for the win.

Ogier will be leading the series after Croatia more than 10 points, so probably will not be in Portugal, because there he would be 1st on the road. In Sardegna can again take the advantage starting after the main contenders and dominate. Seven events is not enough, but 8-10 rounds programme and Ogier is the main favorite for the WRC title.
