Iain Campbell should get a top rally series back in the UK if at all possible.

If it cant get into the WRC then all efforts should be made to bring the Circuit of Ireland / Rally NI back into the ERC.

Spa Rally could be an option too for the final.

Well yes, but it's going to be the same issue; somebody has to pay for the hosting fee. If the WRC isn't attractive for backers/sponsors, then the ERC is going to be even harder. If we think the WRC is invisible, then I'm not sure what that makes the ERC.

Is there a better sound than that of Porsche engined Flat-6 ???

UK wise, we've got the Cambrian Rally (essentially Wales Rally GB lite, with some local authority funding) and Trackrod Rally Yorkshire in the right place calendar wise, but I can't see either sourcing the funding required for ERC and both would need to be at least 100km longer. Nice thought though, they'd be great events!

If Northern Ireland can arrange any state funding, they'll get the amount needed for the WRC.

I do wonder if somebody could get some decent money out of the Manx Government for an event there, as there was some fuss there over the loss of the Manx 'International'/Rally Isle of Man in recent years and its economic impact, even though the event by that point had already been struggling for years. But an event there would need some Azores level of financial support, being an island off an island...

Thread is a little muddied between ongoing events for future calendars and finding one round to fill a void this year.

Sounds like the ERC needs a rally more than any rally wants ERC this year, how does this affect the subject of coughing up the 'ERC money'?

For future rounds though, will be interesting to see how long high inflation persists and whether some governments/authorities will then support events as we're used to.

Maybe 3-Stadte rally could be option? It's set to be held in October.

Also can be nice comparation between Barum and 3-Stadte for FIA as both events aim for WRC in near seasons.

The Circuit of Ireland was a round of the ERC a few years ago so the series should be recognised there...
