Delayed due to some unexpected changes of the road on very last moment.

Awfully short saturday. Longest travel to the shortest event.

2022 WRC Rounds - stage distance/ Total route distance and percentage stage/ total distance driven.

    Monte 296.63 km 1511.47 km 19.6 %

    Sweden 305.85km 1223.22 25%

    Croatia 291.84 1642.18 km 17.8%

    Portugal 338.34 km / 1522.89 km 22.2%

    Sardegna 307.91 km/ 1303.38 km 23.6%

    Kenya 359.93 km / 1223.79 km 29.4%

    Estonia 313.84 km / 1486.77 km 21.1%

    Finland 322.61 km/ 1427.47 km 22.6 %

    Belgium

    NZ - planned 276.44 km / 1374.47 km 20.1%

(New Zealand Rally Championship rounds Otago 276.10 km / 802 km 34.4% and Whangarei 252.96 km / 710.86 km 35.6%)

Almost better to hold a NZ championship round for route efficiency, the NZ WRC round on the Friday morning is leaving town an hour or more too late. If the wrc leaves town at that time potentially get caught in a traffic jam/ accident slow up etc. They should reverse order the field and get going at 4 am, even if the down the order have to wait somewhere out of town longer)

Interesting part about Bertelli in M-Sport 4th car in NZ; would mean there will be 4 cars in the shipment so maybe one available for Japan (except if Bertelli does it also but also some rumors about Serderidis in Japan)

Also interesting to see how M-Sport will handle that logistically with at least 8 cars at the same moment (4 in the Pacific + 4 in Catalunya at least normally), maybe even 9 with some rumors about Serderidis also in Catalunya (in addition to Acropolis and Japan).
Wouldn’t be surprised if there is some other benching of Breen or Fourmaux by the end of the year to save parts and money.

Other option is to do the 3 last rallies with the same 4 cars (M-Sport already did that with America-Europa-America combo in the past) with multiple shipments but sounds much more complicated with Pacific rallies IMO; all the more that the logistics costs are really high currently.

The rally cars and spare parts will travel by air, and return to Cockermouth after NZ. It's only service equipment, tents, catering kit and recce cars that travel by sea.

As far as I know the teams have one set of ‘long haul’ kit they ship to these events. This was the reason given that the Safari couldn’t run around its traditional Easter date as it was too close to Argentina.

Yes, and that's why you can't run for example Mexico and Argentina back to back.

One of the biggest logistical challenges in the recent years has been from Estonia to Turkey with a two-week gap (essentially one week for packing, traveling and unpacking). And IIRC Ypres was supposed to be a third event with a two-week gap but they postponed that (and eventually cancelled)
