After Estonia I’ve been afraid of purpose built power stages but this one didn’t look that bad

Expect a long day on Friday with 3 repeated Waikato area stages and just a midday tyre change zone. Due to time differences fans in Europe and UK will be watching live rally action on WRCplus on a Thursday evening. The day will likely conclude with an evening Super Special back on the Auckland City water front.

The 3 Friday stages of Repco Rally New Zealand 2022 will all be longer than Rally Sardegna's longest stage.

That’s great news, I really hope we get a longer rally (like in Kenya), after all it’s half way around the world, might as well have a long rally, especially when it’s such a fast and flowing rally.
Only you know your true potential.
    This year we rally #ForCraig

Heads up for people coming to NZ for the rally this year, to be aware of the personal safety/ property security issues in many parts of NZ that currently exist.
One medical car park had 3 out 6 staff cars stolen last weekend. Car break-ins are common.

    RG1 has been published.
Confirms early start of the Friday with mid day tyre fitting zone in Raglan.
Shakedown on Thursday will be on same road as was used for SD in 2012

A lot of rallying in NZ is on fast flowing cambered public roads. NZ also has tighter forestry stages including some that are within easy touring distance of service park. It is good to have variety.

Michèle Mouton recently visited New Zealand in her role as FIA safety representative in preparation for the WRC Rally New Zealand. Purpose of trip was to check safety preparations of stages and spectator areas. The visit brings us one step closer to full itinerary being released

    It's a trifecta.
Ford was today announced as an Elite sponsor of Rally New Zealand. Hyundai and Toyota were previously announced as elite sponsors.
