    Rally New Zealand 2022

Most of that second place was due to good performance on Harju. SS2 5th, SS3 10th. And for example SS2 winner Suninen wasn’t fast on Harju.

I would rather look at Ogier's performance on these medium-fast gravel rallies with mostly smooth but slippery roads.

    - Portugal 2017 win, 2015 second, 2016, 2019, 2021 third
    - Wales 2018, 2013-2016 win, 2017 third
    - Mexico 2018, 2013-2015 win, 2016-2017 second

New Zealand is actually very technical in places, lots of medium speed corners flowing into each other with lots of camber. If its bone dry we will likely see the biggest cleaning in the whole championship as well - which should be perfect for Ogier

Weather forecast on the area where Friday stages are driven. Right now rainy on the upcoming days...

This is my route preview with Hayden Paddon's comments for almost every stage!

Yes you can bet that’s one of the reasons he’s there - a chance to add another Classic victory to his impressive list.
If the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off!

I looked back into the 2012 event. Back then we had qualifying, and Latvala picked to be 13th on the road, Hirvonen first on the road. And still they were quite close to each other in the results. But especially on Whaanga Coast, Hirvonen made a monster of a stage win. It was damp from pre-rally rains. Could it be same now?

    Weird timing of the announcement.
Did they first decide now (after Greece?) or did they just wait with announcing it?
