Coffs Coast Rally 2022 this weekend. Scene of the 2019 WRC final non-event due to bush fires, the event returns as Australian national and APRC title round.

Contenders will be Paddon in his veteran AP4 i20, the Bates brothers in the Toyota AP4 GR Yaris cars and a few Australian (Dalton - expat Ireland) drivers who could come through should the aforementioned have trouble or hit a Kangaroo etc.

Coffs Coast Rally - Stages are rougher than those used for the WRC rally.
Paddon leads after 2 stages. The old NZ car has been adapted to the Aus conditions, fingers crossed it does not break.

    https://chrissport.co.nz/

Luke Anear - Fiesta nose plant Special stage 2

    https://www.speedcafe.com/2022/11/26...s-coast-rally/

End of Day 1, 1) Paddon leading 2) Harry Bates +2.4 seconds 3) Nathan Quinn 9.1 seconds
Paddon lost time at the end of day due to an axle breaking and having to run a few stages in 3 wheel drive.

    Interviews midday first day.
    https://youtu.be/ytKd3EJ9epE

Paddon gained a 30 second time penalty for arriving late at TC5A on Day 1, so started day 2 in 3rd position. HP clawed back half the deficit on the first stage of day 2.

Stage 12 - Harry Bates and Paddon closely matched at splits through stage, but Harry Bates rolled and is okay at 21.4 km in the 25 km. Lewis Bates - 2023 Australian Rally Champion.
Stage 13 - overall order unchanged
Stage 14 - L Bates pips Paddon in aprc category.

Paddon wins event for 2022 Asia Pacific Rally title. Lewis Bates second, Dalton third in APRC section.

Harry Bate's co-driver hospitalised as a result of the rally crash. https://www.rally.com.au/mccarthy-re...r-coffs-crash/

    5) A Rullo (Hyundai Rally 2)

Finished this order for the day.
