BTCC Entries/Rumours that never came to be

This can include non-starters as, technically, that makes them entries that never actually raced.

This can also include tests that never went anywhere.

I shall start with GR Motorsport trying and failing to run an ex-John Shields Motorsport Alfa 147 for Gordon Shedden in the 2002 Season.

    Things I've heard...
    - "Ash to Australia's V8SC" (but they said that last year too)
    - Jake Hill to BMW (Tom Oli's seat)
    - Jaguar and Mini could be on the grid (NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.. That'd be too good to be true.)

David Coulthard was linked to a move to the BTCC with the Mazda works team in 1994, he would have partnered Matt Neal with Matt's father Steve Neal running the team and Noel Edmonds sponsoring them. If that had worked out, who would have stood in for Ayrton Senna at Williams after his death at Imola?
