But now when I look on the overall results I have to wonder about all the hype about Greensmith. Yes he won a stage, but is 7th and has 7th time for the leg. So basically similar like in say Croatia last year and it's his 3rd time here in a WRC. Previous year it was also normal with 1-2 good times and a few terrible ones.
For other Pumas Fourmaux crashed from 6th, Breen is 6th and 6th in leg.

If Loeb wasn't there what would we say about the speed of the Puma? Maybe something like "not so much behind"?

Now when Loeb is there we (and MSport) might only wonder what could have been if they had more top drivers......and Loeb is only confirmed for Monte and has schedule conflicts with quite a few rallies for rest of the eason.

(Breen should be better on other rallies where he has more experience, but he still lacks it for half of the rallies in the season. So I really doubt he can challenge for championship)
Clearly you weren't able to follow...lots of great split times, and both Gus and Seb had one stage without hybrid. Fourmaux was the only one who could match Ogier's splits before crashing. Gus's pace compared to teammates (sans Loeb) has been outstanding. Actually Breen has been slightly disappointing.

So far it seems Puma and Yaris are the best cars but this is just one type of rally, we need to wait until Portugal in May to find out how they work on gravel

I dunno, it could be a better choice to go with slicks over that short snow section, studs on tarmac are slippery as well

True, but can't see two Monte kings, who are battling, doing so wrong choices..
    Well, let's see

It's also weird that Tänak and Neuville took only one spare for this three-stage bit. On the afternoon it's only two stages.

BTW many people were expecting Loix to perform well...he's been 10th on a stage in RC2 at best. Any comments?

I remember from past years that Neuville has often chosen rather slicks on ice than studs on tarmac, so I think it's his preference. And he hasn't done bad in Monte.

And what says you cannot retire a rally if you have lost too much time to gain anything?

I remember one year also Tänak choose slicks or snow ones compared to others with studs and we thought he is crazy but in the end he didn’t loose at all

    It was 2018 or 2019
