I understand your argument however the competitor signed an agreement to compete in the event. He is breaking the agreement if he decides to stop at any time or not even start the event without a valid reason. I wonder what was written on his retirement form? Anyway, if the Stewards haven't taken any action, then it is probably not worth us discussing it further.

I'm quite sure this isn't the first time this kind of retirement has happened. For a privateer driver, every stage and kilometer is costly. You don't go out on the stages just for fun or to entertain the audience. You want to compete. And if you can not achieve anything, all those tyres, fuel and car maintenance is going to waste. Better save those resources for the next rally.

He did, don't know if he is running low but maybe he has to start to manage it.

This is nonsense. It is not against any regulation. It is will of the driver to continue or not.
