Neuville probably meant the earlier car starting stress stopped him from winning the PS as well as the rally.
That would've been the 'perfect weekend' he was talking about not having.

Have to say, I know it's already been said in some places on social media, but Nil Solans has really impressed this weekend and even though it was his own backyard he managed to get a clean solid result for himself without taking any unnecessary risks. Overall a solid weekend and I hope we get to see him again soon. As a whole, the rally wasn't as interesting as always although it did give Thierry a few missed heartbeats. IMHO I wish it would've been longer by 70-100 km's and that we'd have some night stages just to mix it up a little bit, especially now that the gravel is gone. Also, shame that the rain didn't come through for longer.

Sordo impressed me today, I would never have believed he would beat Ogier in a straight fight over those 4 stages. Normally he wilts physiologically under that pressure, but not today…bravo!
Formaux interests me, I think this kid is going to do well in the coming years. He is clearly fast when he lets it off, but he has a great attitude and understands the process.
Solberg did his job, no big errors and lots of learning, and I loved Solans enthusiasm, you could see on the in car at end of stages he was loving it… did a good job too!

A good rally from Solberg. He kept to his plan of learning and getting to the finishline.
Both the 2C SOL youngsters had a good fight and a very good result on their first Asphalt rally in a WRCar.

Steep learning curve for both, but results they can be proud of!

he didn't crash, so at least that's good.

but being 4 minutes slower and behind greensmith doesn't make me think he will be ready to take on ogier and lappi in 3 months.

I'm afraid i have to agree. Massively over-hyped at the moment. Will never move to the top level unless he fully ditches the family's intimate involvement.

You have to look at the overall. But you don´t.

Have in mind on first loop everyday Oliver was checking pacenotes, knowing that crashes isn´t a solution for him. And also learning tarmacdriving.

If you suggest he should be on same pace as Ogier in Spain, we all can see your judgement is totally wrong. Oliver has still a long way to go.

What's the most important thing for him right now is stability and getting through each and every rally, gaining that precious experience and hopefully also having a car that won't plague him with gearbox issues, like he had yesterday, or any other technical issues for that matter.

But thing is that it's not his idea, it's Adamos. Solberg should compare with one of Toyotas in 3 months in Sweden: Evans, Rovanpera and Lappi

He did ok, and exactly what he should be doing at this time of his career. Problem is that factory car nomination coming all too soon.

Solans did great (and comparatively better). Older "hybrid" car spec, first time in WRC, much less testing (Solberg had first tarmac testing, then Rally Alba, then testing again and Spain).
