I don't know whose idea it was to switch from the 206 to the 307 but that person should be the one apologizing.

They lost the title and all their success thanks to that.

Great drive by Neuville so far. Shame for Tanak, he deserved better.

Considering 33 of those 72 seconds was on the final stage, that means 40 seconds on the rest over a distance of 130 km. We have around 52 kms tomorrow and there is an 18 second gap so given no massive drama and similar time loss it will be tight.

Ogier is a beast through power stages though so...

If Ogier finiahed third would he score third place Manu points for Toyota or second place points as Katsuta isnt nominated ?

If its third place points he will definitely get to finish above Taka...

It's off topic here, but while the 307 by itself wasn't great (dimensions), during the first year the 4-speed gearbox that also kept breaking was the worst part.

Engineers calculated that the shifts were loosing more time than making the gears longer. Problem was that the "stupid" drivers like Gronholm always felt they were in the wrong gear and tried to change down anyway.

Nandan was one of those engineers with that idea and kept that thinking afterwards. (Engineers make the car and drivers use what engineers make). Until he left at end of 2018 Hyundai didn't win a single title and the Tarmac i20 stays on as his legacy.

Had to do with the massive torque band of the engine. Long story and a debate for another time, on another thread
