Decision has been made which is poor but lets move on and hope that the FC are more amenable later in the year.
Another event, another non spectator event; the Mewla Rally on Epynt at the end of August - and again due to the increased level of exercises. Funny it's not enough to stop the event, but enough to not allow spectators. How does that work? Some people may swallow it, but I find it hard to believe.

Is there a better sound than that of Porsche engined Flat-6 ???

Interesting development on the Argyll Stages in that they arent going to announce if its going to be a spectator event until Thursday. I trust this is to put off a few people travelling as otherwise cant see why they are leaving it so late as its on closed public roads with a town centre stage planned! Meanwhile 40 thousand or so Scots football fans headed for London last week!

One gets the feeling that spectators are a nuisance that organisers can't be bothered with, and Covid is the perfect opportunity to not allow any at most events.

Goodwood FOS got the go-ahead as test event but left it too late to get a ticket for a few reasons however should be at Classic Nostalgia at Shelsey all being well.

Argyll Stages has recently finished and looks to have been a great event with spectators. Looked to be a fair few big midges in the air especially on Friday night but weather looked better than here.

They ran an event - and allowed spectators...what is the world coming to?

Shelsey have confirmed that there will be access to the paddock for spectators as part of Classic Nostalgia so if they can do it why cant some rally organisers? I'm mentioning them as will be going as an impressive rally car display will be present at that event. I know that there appear to be hoops to be jumped through and Covid risk assessments to be carried out etc however it does appear to be a convenient get out for some organisers just now regardless of the FC or stroppy Army Majors..

I'm hoping that come September and the Trackrod that is being run as a "test" event a full 2 months or so after Covid restrictions look to be lifted in England, that there will be access once again regardless of it being pens or not.

Have to agree - this is my take on the current situation:

"Unlike every other sport, only rallying is run & organised by volunteers, who give up their free time to enable us to enjoy the sport; so be thankful some events are running - and stop moaning about the lack of spectator access".

For clarity that's not my real thought - merely the type of comments I've seen.....

And people wonder why the sport here is commercially moribund!

Surely there can't be many sports where so much money is spent by competitors to compete in events that are on a par with Sunday league football, commercial scope wise?
