    I don't know how it's in rallycars but in stock cars rear heated screen has much thicker wires, i.e. much higher heating power than the front one.

    AC normally doesn't work under 5 degrees anyway though as the condensation water can freeze, maybe they just didn't think they would need it on the Toyota's this weekend?

    front heated screen i ve seen are very thin,you have to stick your face to 10cm to glass to be visual,but they are at all the glass and very close something 4-5mm to the next wire.
